You could save yourself a lot of time by searching for "2008" and seeing what FReepers have already said on the near-100 other threads about it already.

If all goes well, it will be Jeb Bush.
He's Catholic. He's conservative. He'll do well with Latinos. He's got the Bush peidgree.
We'd also have the first Latino First Lady.
I believe, however, he was accused of an extra-marital affair a few years back. That might be a weak underbelly...

No to Rudy or McCain. Cross out an entire voting block if they run. They're too liberal.
Rudy should take out Hillary in 06. He could take her Sentate seat. McCain is a Democrat in sheeps clothing.

Tim Pawlenty, R-MN is my favorite. I used to like Bill Owens of Colorado, and still do, but he has some baggage.
My dream ticket is Pawlenty-Santorum.

I love Jeb, but he will be a Senator in 2006, methinks.

Hasn't Jeb already announced that he WON'T run in 2008.
I'm not sure if I could take anybody named Huckabee seriously after I saw "I [HEART] Huckabees"

You forgot the Suppy Siders' favorite -- Gov. Owens of Colorado.
I recognize that we must be comfortable with what happened between Gov. Owens and his wife or else the values constituency of the GOP may take pause.
To: fidelio
Also I think you forgot Pataki. I hear a lot rumblings about him wanting to run.

1. Rudy Giuliani will never be named to a national GOP ticket . . . you can take that to the bank.
2. Forget about those senators on the list. U.S. Senators are generally the worst presidential candidates you've ever seen (see Kerry, John; Lieberman, Joseph; Dole, Robert; Mondale, Walter; etc.).
3. Where is Colorado governor Bill Owens on this list?

On the Democratic side, it's gonna narrow down to either John Edwards or Hillary Clinton. I think Edwards is gonna get the nomination.
If it was Edwards, then the Republican should nominate Colin Powell. John Edwards won't have a chance going up against Colin. But if the Dems nominated Hillary, then I'd like to see Condi Rice get the nomination from the Republican side.
In the end, I want Colin for President and Condi for VP.
