I am a lifelong Southerner.
I own guns.
I like country music, opera and Bruce Hornsby and the Range.
I love dry red wine. I also love beer. I also love single malt scotch.
I have a college degree from a very liberal urban school.
I prefer veal to hamburger, pork tenderloin to hot dogs.
I love the Waffle House.
I can do the New York Times crossword puzzle in fifteen minutes.
I understand derivatives.
I trade futures.
I am one of those stupid, ignorant Southerners who voted for Bush.
Let me guess:
Malachi 2:16.

And perhaps most helpful: Matthew 7:1-5.
Please don't think I'm ignoring you. I gotta get out of my jammies and go to church.
It is enough to separate one eternally from the precense of God.
But so are many other sins. Sin is sin. God is God. God hates sin, yet loves the sinner.
The problem comes when the sinner's lover for their sin is greater than their love for God.

I'm one of those stupid, ignorant Texans who voted for Bush time and time again.
If you don't mind my asking, how does the whole ex-homosexual thing work? How do you turn that on or off? I don't think I could become an ex-heterosexual.
My husband is a nuclear engineer.
I am currently a full-time student in forensic nursing, honors society with a 3.87 GPA.
We have 2 dogs, 5 cats, 2 birds and whenever possible rescue abandoned animals, nurse them to health and find homes for them.
We own guns but do not hunt, we love football and baseball but not NASCAR.
My husband grew up, as he describes it as "dirt poor" in a small town in E. Texas with a population of 2,100 people. He graduated from a high school with less students than my senior year english class. He worked his rear-end off to make something of himself and get out of poverty.
We proudly voted for Bush but are part of the "dumb American" set.

Measured IQ of 165......graduate of the Air Force Academy; was an aircraft commander in SAC during the Cold War in my early 20's.......work in worldwide marketing for a Fortune 5 corporation (computer industry). Wife is a former air traffic controller, oldest son is a 2nd Lt. in the Army; oldest daughter (we have 7 kids) about to graduate magna cum laude in zoology with two minors.
I'm an accomplished guitarist and love national politics. Conversant in French, recognized as a corporate strategist. Can carry on in-depth discussions of fiscal policy with the best of them.
.......ALL of the registered voters in my family voted for Bush.
Lets just hope their kids wind up ok.... Road to hell is paved with "good" intentions.
