Who? That's before my time. . . Mccain is kinda creepy but the press and most middle-of-the-road Americans love him. And if Dubya threw him his support with Rice we'd have nice right-center coalition to steamroll out of touch Hillary.

I couldn't support Rudy for Pres/VP, although there are cabinet positions where his liberal social positions would not impact...and you have to like the guy. Rather than attack him I thank him for (1) how he turned NYC around...it is actually a very nice and safe place to taek your familya nd viist now, and (2) his support of Pres Bush and all the Repubs in this election.

I do not know much about Owens...but just doing a google search and reading about him makes him sound very, very impressive. Seems to be both a social and fiscal conservative, and willing to try some new concepts to improve Colorado. And seems very popular in his State.

He sounds like a real good possibility to me.

He's not as pro-choice as Guiliani and claimed he was very pro-life at times during the primaries. Alan Keyes made an issue of some statements he had made previously.

The big problem he has is that he took on the evangelical Christian base of the party during the 2000 campaign. We all saw the moral values issue and the power it can wield. Nominating a candidate that is socially liberal would make many of our supporters stay home and kill us at the ballot box.

That is a very good point about the Clinton Dy-nasty. I think Clinton running would negate the whole "dynasty" business.

So my vote is for Bush/Condi......or Condi/Bush.

I'm not sure who. I know who not though. NO CENTRISTS ON SOCIAL ISSUES. They'll never get through primaries (Guliani, Rice, McCain, Pataki etc.)

Now Jeb will be a good candidate.....in 8-12 years. Just like Bush Sr. and W. You can't do it back to back. Voters will get nervous about the Godfather thing, "the family".

It's gonna have to be a person of intelligence and speaking ability on the level of Henry Hide, with looks of W and Reagan, who is a pro lifer.

If we can find a candidate like that, we will rob some blue next time around.

McCain at the top of the ticket is not a good idea if you want the right wing of the party to be in play. He is liberal let's just face facts. John Kerry wanted him as his running mate. He is also in so close to the MSM I do not trust him. If the MSM likes him that spells trouble in my book.

I think that George Allen should receive some serious consideration, either as prez or VP candidate. He was an extremely popular governor here in VA, and the +4 GOP gain he helped engineer in the Senate is quite impressive.

Gee, thanks! Peter Lorre was a character actor from way back who played creepy little men in movies such as Casablanca, 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Arsenic and Old Lace. McCain is too middle of the road for me.

ummmmm guys and gals..............

It feels great to blow off steam after kicking the snot out of an obnoxious bully in a street fight but lets not get too ahead of ourselves. I worked phones, rang doorbells, had my car vandalized and donated to the pres and SWVT so my creds are pretty good.

We got lots of work to do in 2006 because the dembots are wounded, and there ain't nothing more dangerous than a wounded animal. We have them in the corner and have to finish the job, preferrably something simple like a .38 to the head. A start would be to replace Bendidict Arlen Specter with Jeff Sessions or someone else. Also sending a message Chafee to poop or get off the pot would help.

The dembots in 1993 got lazy and arrogant, and we kicked their butts. Remember, they are licking their wounds and got to figure out a) how to put them away and B) manage a without looking like we are running up the score, which is tough...

I haven't read this entire thread yet, so I may be echoing some other posters. Owens blew it bigtime in Colorado.
Colorado's electoral votes went to Bush... but it lost 1 US Senator, and 1 US House member. The whole Colorado State congress shifted blue... the first time since 1960. The state constitutional amendments he very vocally opposed passed bigtime.

I know he has been touted as the Golden Boy for future national politics, but he didn't do so hot on the homefront.
His 11th hour anointing of Pete Coors over Bob Schaffer didn't help much. I think he has a political tin ear.

The only mark on Largent is he lost for governor in Oklahoma, due to a conservative 3rd party candidate running. However, if he runs for public office again in 2006 and wins (ala, Jeb Bush), he becomes a player again.

Name recognition is not a problem for him as a Hall of Fame WR in the NFL. I think he deserves consideration as a VP at the least.
