Alan Keyes continues to be a man of principle. He's done something very few Republicans have had the courage to do. Here's his first interview.

Doesn't Do What Most Republicans Did

Most Republicans didn't lose by 48 points.

I'm sad he lost. He stands for genuine conservative principles.

He's a good men. But he's a dismal politician.

He never learned the first lesson of politics. In order to do any good, you have to get elected.

LOL! Great! Way to cut to the bottom line.

Keyes has to learn the same lesson the Democrats have to learn, just from the opposite direction.

Obama is for killing babies in the womb.

Keyes is for protecting babies in the womb.

Now which view is right? (Hint: This is easy.)

Stop praising Alan Keyes already. Sheesh. He ran the worst single Senate campaign in memory. His lack of discipline was shocking, given his stellar intellect. And don't tell me it was the media's fault that his obsessive quotes on Jesus and abortion were quoted. The goal was simple...to come in and attack mercilessly and without rest Obama's disgraceful ultra-left wing record. He utterly failed to do so.

Yea, like win the race he was involved in. Alan Keyes is yesterday's news. His mouth is his downfall. I would have voted for Obama over him.

Thank you for your post. God bless Alan Keyes.

"I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly." - Psalm 40:10

I was thinking about this the other day. If you know someone who is in the service of causes that are killing innocent babies, in the service of causes that are destroying the basis for family life, and that individual gets a powerful job that will give him greater influence in pursuing that wickedness--if someone then suggested to you that you call and congratulate them on that lucrative and powerful position, would you do it?

I think we're missing the point. One of the things that we seem to be missing is that if we are serious in our understanding of deep moral issues, then, though we act with civility and according to the rules, which I have certainly done, we do not extend false congratulations to the triumph of what we have declared to be across the line.

And it is across the line. People can say what they please, they can mouth words of unity if they like, but this country is based upon a union of moral principles. That's what Abraham Lincoln stood for. Those who reject that moral principle are not standing on the same ground. And therefore, the easy--how can I put it?--courtesy that we have taken for granted becomes a courtesy that shows a disrespect for truth.

Right message. Wrong messenger. For precedent, see Goldwater '64.

Illinois Republicans should have found a local opponent....period.

Joe-the-farmer-from-Kankakee would not have lost by 48 points.

Keyes diminished himself, as well as the GOP in Illinois.

"I've never known a more stout-hearted defender of a strong America than Alan Keyes. He truly knows that freedom works." —Ronald Reagan

I believe we Republicans in other states let Alan Keyes, d Ronald Reagan, babies in the womb, our country, and God down. Ideologically we truly DO agree with Alan Keyes, but if we're not used to preaching, if we're not used to the admixture of church with civics, we might’ve gotten offended. You may not like the high emotionality of Keyes, but passion is not necessarily wrong. It depends on its content. There is a difference between him and a preacher on Travesty Broadcasting Network©. There is a deeper constitutional ideology to his words; morality and intellectuallism are not magnetically opposite to this man.

Until you do it, you don’t really understand how much courage it takes to stand up against evil. It has to be a consistent voice, day in and day out. No one likes to be told they are doing evil things. No one likes to have light shone upon their darkness. And it’s very hard being the person doing it, the voice telling someone to wilderness, “Repent!” Alan Keyes shone courageously and vociferously against Barack Obama, but lost the election. But no one else had the courage to try. How much support did he get from the rest of America? He could have won, I believe, but maybe it was that God saw our hearts and would not give us a righteous leader if we really didn’t want one.

Let's not allow the Barak "Obamanations." http://www.2004keyes.com/obamanation.php

Let's not abandon the citizen-victims in Illinois , just as we’re not abandoning the victims in Iraq. And don’t allow Obama one more lie. It is a question not just of the person of Alan Keyes, but ourselves. Do we really want people in charge who are honest and understand the Constitution and our Founding Fathers and who have a life of acting upon those beliefs, or do we want to follow deceivers? I would rather get no money from the Federal government, get no perks, get no benefits from special bills passed, if that meant that at least our state was doing what is right and honorable.

Those who voted for Obama need to recognize they morally were wrong , and these next years act decisively to spotlight his every deception.

"Right message. Wrong messenger."

This message (not killing babies) should ALWAYS overshadow the messenger.

Alan's a great preacher, a great lecturer, and a great talk radio host. But he's a lousy candidate. He just doesn't know when to close his mouth.

He didn't lose those 48 points. Those people who refused to confront evil and gave themselves to Obama, TOOK the points which should have gone to Keyes.
