For the 55 million voters--myself included--who didn't want four more years of President George Bush, what comes next?
It doesn't look good. I'm tempted to price a plane ticket to Toronto.
It's a safe bet that our next is hundreds more soldiers killed in an ill-advised war.
National debt will creep further into nosebleed range. Supreme court justices, conservatives who will butt into my bedroom and my womb.
Right-wing court that will likely outlaw affirmative action.I could be on a plantation somewhere, picking cotton.

Dear Wendy,
Tickets to Toronto are quite cheap, they speak english there and have socialized medicine. Try them out.

I'm tempted to price a plane ticket to Toronto Another one. Just go!
These people make these announcements as if their leaving would inflict such pain and suffering on the country that it will punish us for having the temerity to vote other than they did.
If their intelligence matched their egotism it might be a loss, however...

I didn't vote for Clinton and I acted like an adult and didn't stomp my feet and act like a spoiled sniveling brat who didn't get my way. I respected the office of the President and never went around belittling him to others. This is what happens when you raise children in a "me" society. They think and act like the whole world wants to listen to their ramblings. Time to grow up and realize that it's time to unite and stop enabling the terrorists, otherwise you all will be speaking Arabic.

Supreme court justices, conservatives who will butt into my bedroom and my womb.Wasn't it the court that did that in the first place, by ruling that instruments of death may go in there?
Right-wing court that will likely outlaw affirmative action.I could be on a plantation somewhere, picking cotton.
No racial favoritism? HOrror of horrors!

"I'm tempted to price a plane ticket to Toronto."
No need, I'll drive you.
"It's a safe bet that our next is hundreds more soldiers killed in an ill-advised war."
Maybe so, but if Kerry had been elected then it likely would have been a CIVIL war.
"conservatives who will butt into my bedroom and my womb."
Um...what makes you think anyone WANTS in your bedroom.
"Right-wing court that will likely outlaw affirmative action.I could be on a plantation somewhere, picking cotton."
Um..since when are Republicans pro-slavery?? And anyway, I would pity the plantation owner that had to put up with you.

To: martin_fierro
She can't pick cotton...we have immigrants for that.

I really would like for all of these upset Democrats to get any any plane going anywhere out side the United States and just leave.
Living outside the United States is not all that it's cracked to be. If you can put up with the inconveniences, then it is a great life.
In other countries people are entrenched in ways of doing things. They have no problems with slow responses from all segments of government, power outages, water outages, no telephone service for weeks or months at a time, strikes, local food, the yearning for American food from time to time, diarrhea, poor medical care. If this fits you thinking then I suggest you don't let the door hit you in the ass as you board the airplane.
I am leaving the country is such a gooffy, idiotic, moronic statement to make. That was one of the reasons I did not vote for Kerry, he just seemed to be juvenile and immature in his actions.

"I could be on a plantation somewhere, picking cotton." Doubtful, Baby, very doubtful. You don't sound quite smart enough to operate a picker.
To: Uncledave
Orbitz has some good deals. They should have some little video game where you try to flee across the Canadian border before you are crushed by a mob of neocons.

Personally Wendi after reading your drivel I think you picking cotton would be a promotion up to your level of incompetence. The good thing Wendi is once you reach your level of incompetence you are unlikely to be demoted. So keep picking baby.

I can just see Condi Rice and Colin Powell out picking cotton. That's usually what happens to hard working, educated people in this country, but only if they're black. (I don't really need to add a sarcasm tag to this, do I?)
I'll tell you something else, Affirmative Action is discrimination in a different wrapper. Why do we penalize hard work in this country, just to meet an artificial hiring or member quota? Why don't we just say, if you work hard to be the best, you should get to do what you want.
Aww, forget it, let's just keep Affirmative Action.... but just so we're clear, I want to see some slow, uncoordinated white guys playing in the NBA by the end of the week!!! (Chris Mihm and Greg Oestertag don't count)
To: graceland
And I'm sick and tired of liberals "threatening" to leave the country. If they can't take it, just leave. There's no need for them to make an announcement, except for the fact that their ego makes them believe they are the only ones who count.
