Let's face it, Fast Eddie runs a heck of a Democratic machine. We didn't have a state where the demographics are almost all Republican. I'm happy that Ohio ended up where it should.
Not necessarily true here in PA. The state was very late in getting the absentee ballots out. (Thank you Governor "gangsta" Rendell).
They agreed to accept absentee ballots late (after a court challenge by the Republicans to Rendell - who wanted to ignore them!) but ONLY for the Presidential race. Therefore there is no reason to count them for other races. I have no doubt that sleazy Rendell will supress the counting of the absentee ballots that come in late. Especially the military ones.
Wisconsin was 1% or less. Kerry 1,488,935 (50.1%) and Bush 1,477,122 (49.8%). This does not include the votes for Nader and other candidates.
They dont have the votes in fla and oh. And our margin should increase in OH with the finding fraud and the military ballots.
But we gotta get these touch screens in a controlled environment in the north. I bet it is worth 500K votes PER ELECETION.
ALso, bush wins MI PA and WI eassily.
Remeber that God expects us to do His work!
Absolutely correct. While watching the early returns on the Internet I remarked to my wife that the early count "had to be Philadelphia". It was, I believe, 75% - 25% at the time. I predicted that Kerry would get "no more than 52%" when all was said and done and that if Bush could stay within 5% of Specter's numbers that he may very well win. (Specter was losing something like 71% - 29% at the time.)
It turned out very close and Bush would have won except for the fraud in Philadelphia. Maybe we can jettison Philly to New Jersey!
By the way, I called the election for Bush at 7:35 pm when the returns showed that he would get at least 60% in both Kentucky and Indiana. When a Republican does that, Ohio always follows.
If all those who voted for Specter had voted for Bush he would have won PA. Kerry 2,883,833 Bush 2,756,361 difference 127,472. Total votes for Specter 2,890,818 votes that could have been added to Bush 134,457. Specter is a RINO and let our President down.
I think we should look at the bigger picture here. Sometimes, it doesn't matter whether the votes are correct or not. Making it longer than it should will simply create negative perspections toward Republican party: "Bush has won... what else do they want...??"
Do the Wis totals include all outstanding absentee and provisional ballots? BTW, there's a story in the Milwaukee Journal this morning that the Governor of the state, Doyle, ordered state workers to Milwaukee in a last-minute hysteria to register new voters in the hours before the election.
No, they only include the votes cast on Nov 2. I believe the state must count provisionals but not absentees unless requested.

[Unfortunately, Pennsylvania has a long history of political corruption, as described in this 1845 poem by Wm. Wordsworth. Philadelphia, especially, needs to be cleaned up. People everywhere need to be IDed when voting. If you don't want to have an ID card, you don't have to, but you can't vote just by walking in. Now the poem.]
To the Pennsylvanians
DAYS undefiled by luxury or sloth,
Firm self-denial, manners grave and staid,
Rights equal, laws with cheerfulness obeyed,
Words that require no sanction from an oath,
And simple honesty a common growth--
This high repute, with bounteous Nature's aid,
Won confidence, now ruthlessly betrayed
At will, your power the measure of your troth!--
All who revere the memory of Penn
Grieve for the land on whose wild woods his name
Was fondly grafted with a virtuous aim,
Renounced, abandoned by degenerate Men
For state-dishonour black as ever came
To upper air from Mammon's loathsome den.
I think the bogus exit poll showing Kerry winning PA by a larger margin must have influenced the projection.
I was also pleased when I saw GWB leading with 58% in the national vote at 7 PM. In some past elections, most notably in the 1980s, I noticed that the Repub candidate would usually lose 3-5 points off what his starting percentage was. For example, in 1980 Ronald Reagan had 54% when the vote counting started, but then he dropped 3 and ended up wtih 51% in the final vote. So when the president had 58% in the early evening, I was optimistic he would end up winning, though his percentage did drop a lot.
Agreed! There are a couple of issues that need to be addressed. One is a voter ID law. Only a few states have one, but I think it needs to be nationwide, and have some teeth (picture ID required, none of this "utility bill" stuff). Also, the provisional ballots need to go away, as they provide another avenue for cheating.
I'm here in NM, and we have some issues here, for sure. One way to help prevent fraud is to vote ON ELECTION DAY. Early and absentee ballots are also misused or abused, especially since absentee ballots tend to trend Republican, so they get "lost". Some of my compadres here are concerned that they voted early and that their votes might have been misplaced. I was also admonished by someone in the know that voting absentee in NM is a wasted vote, so I took that advice to heart.
Now that the Republicans have gained a few seats here and there, they need to address the election fraud issue. No excuses, and all the cries of "disenfranchisement" need to go unheeded, as they are disingenuous. My opinion is, if you aren't responsible enough to show up at the polls with your drivers license (how did you get there?), then maybe you really shouldn't be voting, anyway! Once again, the Democrats paint their constituency as a bunch of children who can't do anything for themselves. I realize that is true in some cases, however...
Oh geesh.
The bigger picture is not having to face fraud for the next ten elections. We may need PA, WI, MN for the next elections.
And Miami Dade has a republican mayor, in part, because the new machines have held down the fraud.
Did you not see the fraud in philly where the machines were pre-loaded?
I agree with you. The fraud and corruption need to be exposed and prosecuted before the next election, for example, their going into prisons, filling out ballots for dementia patients, people voting in more than one state or city, intimidation by Union thugs at the polls, filling out ballots for voters that don't speak English and the list goes on.
Asked on another thread, but worth repeating: How many more counties would turn red if all vote fraud (on either side)was detected and disallowed?
WI Maybe, I don't knwo about PA... 130k votes is a big margin to overcome.
PA will move to the R column provided that Dems keep beating the same secular social democracy drum... .it will take a few more cycles to get it solidly and dependably RED, but it will be just as solid as the south provided that Republicans put up strong candidates... Philly is the only thing keeping the state Blue, and the other blue bastion of SW PA, dems are losing their dominance.... This state WILL GO SOLID RED! Just going to take a few more cycles.
As will WI and IOWA and Michigan.... and yes, even Minnesotta will indeed go solid RED in the coming years. If Dems keep on this secular social democracy/communist sympathising path, they will become less and less relevant and be left with nothing more than the north east and the west coast.
Hey, watch it! We're already stuck with Newark, Trenton, Camden, Hudson County. Without them, "Joisey" goes RED!
