Who the heck are you HLL, and what was you running for? Did Jim forbid you from Freepmailing members? I can't see him doing that.

I was able to freepmail members, that wasn't a problem. I could also post on my local Michigan board. I just wasn't able to keep anything posted in News.

I had great local support. The RNC had asked me to run for two years but last year I went blind and it was out of the question. I regained my sight and agreed to run for US Congress. I am very proud of my results. I did a ton of media, met the most wonderful people, and made great inroads. I was called today from Lansing to see how I felt about running for a higher office. Right now I am too tired to consider another run and I need sleep. I have a lot of offers that I need to consider. I have a great job that I love but I also feel the need to serve the public.
I have time to make those tough decisions.
OBTW, your opponent will have the endorsement of your local printed rag that they still call a newspaper.
If you are ready for that, then............GO FOR IT, but make sure your family is strong enough to take it.
By the way, if you choose to, you have my highest admiration.
Don't let it bother you. Sometimes I think it's jealously. For example, if you start a thread about the Presidential Debate prior to the Debate the moderator will change the title until someone well liked starts one. Not everyone is treated equal on FR. Try to ignore it and concentrate on the platform.
5. Liquor sales on Sunday - I don't believe in liquor sales on Sunday. There is a trend to lower the percentage limit on food sold so a business can sell liquor on Sunday. Currently that limit is 50% of their business must be food related, they want to lower that to 30%...I am against this issue.
Hmmm... I was especially interested in that one, too, since as Johnson County Kansan, I've been known to pop across the state line to make some acquisitions. Allowance of Sunday booze sales in our county and the county to our north have been in question and in the news quite a bit over the last year or two. Missouri has always been a reliable source!
A few years back, they actually had unmarked cars nailing Kansans crossing back from Missouri with trunkfuls (trunksful?) of booze during the holidays. Sunday sales and tax rate differences create some interesting incentives!

His daughter and I ce3lebrated our fiftieth Anniversary this past June-he would have been proud.

Liquor sales are available 6 days a week now. Having a 7th day would only encourage more drinking and more drinking related events such as domestic violence and drunken driving. Sunday is a day for God and family, not the liquor store. Most of the stuff I've read on liquor sales on Sunday only show that there not much revenue benefits for the store or the state. It sometimes costs more for the store to stay open due to utilities, payroll, etc than the store brings in. Some small stores cannot afford this and in some instances...Sunday is the only day off most of the employees have....why take that away or force the store to hire people it cannot afford.

Congratulations. My lovely Mrs. MissouriConservative just celebrated our 14th year together this past August. It's so nice to see couples married as long as you have been....it's rare these days.

Again, if you think it is up to the state to make the decision what day we spend doing what, what day we buy liquor and what day we go to church, or if we go to church or drink at all, you are a statist.

Seems like you are the one wanting to do the "forcing."
I hope you will not run for congress or any political office at all.
If I were going to run, one thing I would do is find a current office holder in a neighboring district that had similar views (or at least be GOP) and see if you could spend a few days with him/her at the capital and district office. It would give an idea of what needs to be done and how things work.

The same way I square the laws on speed limits, drug usage, drunk driving laws, pornography laws, age limit laws on liquor purchases (applies to those between the ages of 18 and 21), etc.
As I said, people have freedom to buy liquor 6 days a week...I'm not against liquor....just liquor sales on Sundays.
