My news source is usually FR.. My husband and I would compare the timing of when each of us would hear a particular news story... there have been instances when FR has been weeks ahead of the MSM!

Not very charitable to say knowing what cancer does to a family, but given her husband making a fortune suing doctors I wonder if she will have trouble finding a physician?

I will pray for her recovery. Isn't it odd though? Edwards made millions on malpractice suits and now has to depend on the very profession he targeted to save his own wife?

prayers go out to her and the Edwards family, as well...

on a side note, I can't help but point out that I doubt the DUmmies would show the same respect for one of us.... ive seen enough deplorable comments about Cheney's heart condition to know better...

"You know it, I know it, they know it, and yet, still, we're somehow the "evil" party, the "party of death"."

Good point. And I bet they'd still make fun of us for praying.

Well, the other day she was on TV and I called her a fat-ass or some such thing, and now I feel ashamed of myself. One of these days I'll learn not to make things personal and to remember that there are things beyond politics.

There is no factual basis for your statement. And extensive research has been done on that topic.

Elizabeth Edwards Has Breast Cancer

By RON FOURNIER and RANDOLPH SCHMID
Associated Press Writers

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Elizabeth Edwards, wife of former Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards, was diagnosed with breast cancer the day her husband and Sen. John Kerry conceded the presidential race.

Spokesman David Ginsberg said Mrs. Edwards, 55, discovered a lump in her right breast while on a campaign trip last week. Her family doctor told her Friday that it appeared to be cancerous and advised her to see a specialist when she could.

She put off the appointment until Wednesday so as not to miss campaign time.

I understood the point I guess but breast cancer is no joke. As you can see from many of the post on this thread there is lots of misunderstanding. We were not rich people but with the combination of insurance and personal funds we spent 500K fighting it and it just didn't work. Just in these past few months my sister-in-law (my wife's sister) also succumbed to the same disease. Neither my wife or her sister evil or Democrats. I wish money was the answer.

There is no evidence that "late pregnancies" naturally or artificially conceived, have any impact on overall breast cancer rates. There was a small study some years ago that thought it found a small connection between fertility treatments and ovarian cancer. However, further research confirmed that the elevated cancer rate was associated with infertility, regardless of whether the women in question had ever undergone fertility treatments.

it crossed all of our mind. We want her to get well, but not in our system....

As of when did you become the FR spokesman? You dfo not speak for everyone here. Do not pretend to. Most FReepers are being decent. You are not.

If you live long enough, you'll know someone who has cancer or get it yourself (God forbid). Most people who get it, always ask "why me and what did I do to deserve this"? The answer is that no one did anything bad enough to bring on this terrible disease. It just happens. Oh sure, there are risk factors. She has been under alot of stress, and just that alone can cause the immune system to go haywire.

But I hope she found it early enough. I think she did. I'm not being a smart aleck when I say that she is very lucky she found it in THIS country and not under the socialist health care system Canada has. The key is early detection and prompt treatment and good followups.

God bless her and her family.
