I keep wishing that one day the blue county I live in will go red. I live in one of the two or three counties in Missouri that went blue.
Strong urban core outvotes we in the burbs.....but I always hold out hope.

Somebody mentioned a website that lets you see what it looked like down to zip codes.
I haven't seen it and don't know where to find but hopefully somebody else who *does* know will pipe up and post it...:)

Move a few miles north to Williamson Co I'm asking that we fence off Travis Co. and let the libs have it. ;^) Unless you think we can drive em out?
The way some are talking here, they are ready to move to San-fran-way-out-yonder-cisco or any place on the east/left coasts anyway. Let them run away and hide.

and that blemish in the middle is "The People's Republik of Austin". Any idea what happened to that lone county down in the "Cajun corner"?
AH HA!! "The People's Republik of Austin"..... I work there, but live in a Republican stronghold in NW Travis Co. Not many john/john signs in that area, but plenty of the Bush/Cheney signs and bumper stickers. The B/C signs are all still up for the most part, but the skerry signs are all GONE!!

If California were not winner-take-all, it would be virtually impossible for Dems to win the presidency.Which is exactly what I mean by California becoming a player. Did you see Bush or Kerry in CA? Me neither.

If it were not for the limit of 435 seats in the Congress, the Democrats would never win anything ever again outside of large urban areas.
The number of Congressional Districts should at least be doubled, and even tripled or more.
My great grandfather had better representation in the Congress than I have ever had. In 1914 the average Congressional District in terms of population was about one third of what it is now. Vote data by counties does make a nice looking map, but for all practical purposes it is meaningless.

The same thing has happened in northern New England. We got all the Massholes who couldn't stand the mess they made of their own state.
