In Day One we established the need to remove Specter from the Judiciary. To sum it up:
1. Specter is in line to become Chairman of the Judiciary.
2. Specter yesterday showed he expects to obstruct Bush in nominating conservative judges.
3. Specters vision of a balance court is the exact same rhetoric of Senator Kerry.
4. Specter will do whatever it takes to see the courts do not become conservative. Read his books.
5. Specter is a huge proponent of Rov v. Wade.
6. Specter was not elected President, but has threatened the President should he nominate conservative judges.
7. As Chairman, Specter has the power to kill Bushs judicial nominations.
Now in Day 2, we must take action. Todays goal is to create some BUZZ. We need to contact the conservative media, like Rush and Hannity and other radio talk shows. Contact FoxNews, Brit Hume, Tony Snow. Heres an example:
Senator Specters remarks yesterday concerning Bushs judicial appointments were disturbing. If nothing is done, Senator Specter is in line to be Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. We need a Chairman who supports our President and his judicial nominations in that position, not someone who is on record as wanting to obstruct the Presidents judical appointments. This is a very critical position, and allowing Specter to become chairman would be no different than appointing Senator Kennedy. Specters vision of the court is 180 degrees off of President Bushs. President Bush will have a difficult time enough getting appointments through, but it would be an insult if the biggest obstruction is getting past one liberal GOP Senator, especially one who Bush helped.
Also, provide them with links to yesterdayss story, Specter warns Bush on high court nominations or the same story posted here on FreeRepublic, Specter warns Bush on high court nominations
We must not allow this back-stabbing liberal to veto President Bushs victory.
PLEASE CALL Bill Frist's number at (202) 224-3344 (they may switch you to a "comment line", and leave the following message:
Senator Frist, congratuations on the tremendous victory for the Republican Party. My name is _____ from ______-and my phone number is _______. I have been one of the volunteers working hard to help accomplish this great victory.. spending a lot of my own money and time. Americans have sent a strong message that we want a conservative Supreme Court bench. We want conservative federal judges. And we have a strong mandate for you to accomplish that task. Please don't let us down. The appointments we make in the next few years will have a resounding affect on our future. Please do not appoint Sen Specter to head a judiciary committee. Look for stronger conservative leadership in this position. You have the right.. and the will of the people as permission to do so. And again, congratulations.
Also, remember that we should NEVER be angry or threatening, especially to people on our own side. So congratulate, be upbeat, postive, victorious and reassuring!
And pass this info on to everyone else you know!

Go for it. Keep me informed of every detail.
Glad to see some traction. The bright lights of talk radio need to shine on Specter and his vision of liberal judicial activism. We can not allow this back-stabber in position of power over these nominations. We really need Rush and Brit to get on board.
Majority Leader Frist,
Please do NOT allow Senator Specter to become leader of the Judiciary Committee.
These comments were made by Senator Specter yesterday, as reported by (http://www.philly.com)
Specter, as presumptive chairman of the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee, suggested that he would block any Bush nominee to the Supreme Court who opposed abortion rights. Reiterating his position that a woman's right to choose is "inviolate," he said overturning Roe v. Wade today would be akin to trying to reverse Brown v. Board of Education, the court's 1954 landmark desegregation decision.
"If you have a race that is won by a percent or two, you have a narrowly divided country, and that's not a traditional mandate," he said. "President Bush will have that very much in mind."
"The number-one item on my agenda is to try to move the party to the center," Specter said. "I want to focus on the politics of inclusion."
I believe this country wants to move more to the right. We must take this opportunity that has presented itself by holding the Democrats feet to the fire and continue to push the agenda of LIFE!
Putting Senator Specter as head of the Judiciary would stymie and, to use one of Sec. Def. Rumsfeld's words, slog the Judicial appointment process.
Since Senator Specter has clearly stated that he has a "LITMUS TEST" (Roe Vs. Wade should stay) I hope this helps you see that Senator Specter is NOT the right man for the Head of the Judiciary committee.
I believe, as does President Bush, that we must project a culture of life not a culture of death.
I'll leave you with a question to ponder.......
"How do you teach a child to be responsible and accept consequences of their actions in life when you teach them that life can be eviscerated in the womb and there is no longer a responsibility to care for life?"

Have you seen the extent of Bush country in PA?

Well, the only way to get Frist to act is to put as much pressure on him as possible. If we do nothing, you are right, Frist will allow Specter to become Chairman. Frist will only act if lots of pressure is applied.
My gut is that the only way Specter will be denied Judiciary is if someone with more seniority wants it. Who would that be, I wonder?
Who's got Frist's email address?
JimB is so much more solicitous than I.
Looks like your post is a quotation. Of what?

I just called and all Frist's lines are busy.
I tend to see his statement as a feint--by positioning himself as a "moderate" he takes on enormous credibility with the media. If Spector supports a nominee, it will really take the wind out of the liberal's sails.
