What station did you watch last night for election coverage?

Posted on 11/03/2004 6:36:47 AM PST by AuburnJenn

Yes, this is a vanity, but please don't flame me. I am curious what station you watched last night for election results? And why were there 2 different Fox broadcasts (one with Shephard Smith and the other had Brit Hume)? I was actually not as impressed with Fox as I hoped I'd be, I found their panel fairly dull - CBS was a joke of course, NBC and ABC were actually not all that vomit-inducing as I expected them to be. But Today show sure looked and acted glum this morning! I am just so excited for President Bush

Mostly Fox News. Brit is the best. And they had Michael Barone, who is very good.

None. I was here lurking part of the day. Even FR was full of doom and gloom because of the MSM and exit polls. It was clear that MSM was in full combat mode and I felt it made no sense to watch any of them (even FOX) with their BS (i.e. exit polls). I went out and voted. I called around to make sure everybody else went out and voted. Then I stayed away from the media presentations until this morning.

FOX, just checked SeeBS for how the lies were flowing.
Did anyone else think Susan Estrich was drunk at 6PM?

Watched Glenn Beck on-line -- no disappointments!

Logged-on to Drudge to get get quick "leaning towards" info

Logged-on to CNN to track counties. TV on mute; TIVO on FOX cable; second T.V. input used to bounce around the various networks.

The wife watched "LifeTime" (women-beater) channel.

Turned to CNN at the top and bottom of the hour. They were the first to call states, even used a timer to be exact. Then switched to Fox

Didn't use the TV at all. Stayed on the Net all night and used the "The Corner" and "Free Republic" for breaking news.

My TV was not turned on at all last night. FR all night, until about 3:00 A.M. when I collapsed into bed.

Fox....no contest....they're easily the best. Plus looking at Rather's mug all night might have caused me to hurl a brick through the tv...or just hurl period.

Fox and FR until Fox called Ohio - then channel flipping to see how the other networks were mishandling the information.

Was on FR till about 11PM then watched FNC and switched between MSNBC and CNN just for entertainment. I've been up all night -- too wired to sleep. But please tell me about Dan Rather. Was he suicidal?

God Bless America and God Bless all the good people who voted for our President.

FR during "work" in the morning and afternoon, then Fox and FR at night, along with John Ratzenberger's "Made in America" (he visited the Jack Daniel's distillery and showed the whole process, and also the Zippo lighter factory in Pennsylvania) and History International's "The Map Makers" thrown in for tension-busting relief and educational purposes.

FOX 80% of the time out of loyalty. But they were terrible. I didn't mind that they were cautious about putting states up, but it was just the boring coverage, no Map, and going to the vial Susan Estridge for her comments every chance they could.

Fox did not have its "A Game" last night. NBC did provide excellent and more fair and balanced coverage than I thought they would. ABC, CBS, and CNN were as biased as usual.

The most enjoyable part of my evening was watching Brokaw, Rather and Jennings melt like the wicked witch of the west. Brokaw actually made the comment early in the evening that Gore had won Florida in 2000. Rather was beside himself. I mostly watched Fox, but flipped through MSNBC, NBC, ABC, and CBS during commercials and boring Fox commentary. An absolutely wonderful evening - especially when it was clear that the exit polling yesterday was flawed.

I watched CBS for the entertainment value. Fox would be predictable. Dan not calling Ohio for Bush in the name of being 'conservative' all evening long was absolutely classic.
