Making Vietnam the centerpiece of his campaign, of course.

...which inevitably led to the Traitor's actions being exposed for the nation to see.

The underestimation of the intelligence of the American public. Big Phony. We saw right through him.

Kerry's biggest miscalculation was calculating. He failed the test of life, to overcome narcissism and develop core values. His entire life is a constant calculation, positioning himself, posturing. Image utterly lacking in substnace, and an image that appeals only to certain smug elitists. A miserable man.

His biggest mistake was in 1971.

Nuff said.

Senator Kerry's biggest miscalculation (and there were many) was choosing the Junior Senator from North Carolina, a fellow attorney, a trial lawyer in fact, to be his VP candidate.

Had he selected a strong Southern conservative VP candidate such as Senator Breaux or Sam Nunn, then JFK could have made a run at competing for the popular vote, and perhaps even made the electoral vote closer.

The second mistake wasn't made *by* Senator Kerry, but rather was made by his radical left-wing allies. This mistake was letting (nay, encouraging) the Massachusetts Supreme Court to override American voters by mandating from the bench that gay marriage was suddenly the law of the land.

Gay marriage has always been an American underdog; supported by about 1/3 and opposed adamantly by the other 2/3rd's of the U.S.

Forcing such a vote-loser into the public consciousness mere months before this election motivated millions of evangelicals to go to the ballot box this year.

Granted, Senator Kerry made many additional mistakes, and he was certainly done no favors by the extreme bias published in the form of forged military documents by CBS and rehashed 18 month old "missing explosives" stories in the NY Times, but his choice of VP candidate and the injection of gay marriage into the public debate *prior* to the actual election were strategic blunders of enormous magnitude.

Two East Coast, liberal, White, elite trial lawyers are simply *not* going to sway those American voters who had voted *against* VP Gore a mere 4 years ago. The Democratic ticket for 2004 simply had no viable strategy for prying loose states in this year that already went for GWB back in 2000...

...something that I've published on this forum since the *first* day that Senator Edwards' name came up as a potential VP candidate.

In fact, what we've now verified is that Senator Kerry ran a more inept campaign in 2004 than did VP Gore in 2000.

Moreover, the massive popular vote win for President Bush serves as a clear repudiation by America at large for the types of radical leftism being pushed by the out-of-touch likes of the NY Times, LA Times, CBS News, etc.

Such "news" organizations have lost sight of what America values and believes.

Well, here's a newsflash for them: San Francisco doesn't represent America, kids. Learn it and get over it.

IYHO, WHAT WAS KERRY'S BIGGEST MISCALCULATION?

Thinking that the Vietnam veterans in this country had forgotten or forgiven what he did to them.

The Vietnam Hero gambit was the worst choice of the campaign. He KNEW there were hundreds of men who knew the truth, and he KNEW O'Neill was a dogged adversary, but he went ahead with it anyway, inviting--even provoking--the Swift Boat Vets response.

Kerry jumped the shark with the Swift Boats ads. He totally mishandled that and it was downhill from there.

These Christians came out to vote for traditional marriage and overwhelmingly drove the vote home for Bush.

I believe this issue (and other that focus us on basic Christian morals). This wasn't a Kerry miscalculation, this was a great calculation by state GOP parties. I tell you, look for similar ballot measures to show up in other swing states in 2008 such as Wisconsin.

Letting Kerry open his mouth. No, it was letting Teresa open her mouth. No wait, it was letting Edwards open his mouth.

Oh, the heck with it. . .they just shouldn't have let ANYONE talk.
