IYHO, WHAT WAS KERRY'S BIGGEST MISCALCULATION?
11/3/04

Posted on 11/03/2004 4:41:04 AM PST by Liz

Clearly, the Kerry campaign machine paled next to the brilliant assault commanded by Bush and Karl Rove.

I would say the number one miscalculation was that the Kerry people severly underestimated the burning desire in the American electorate for the restoration of moral values.

It was significant---and redounded in Bush's favor---that ballot questions in 10-12 states to outlaw same sex marriages brought out committed Christians in droves.

These Christians came out to vote for traditional marriage and overwhelmingly drove the vote home for Bush.

Also significant was the Bush effect in Black churches ---normally Dim strongholds.

GWB's strong moral commitment resonated in those churches by strongly religious Black believers who wanted no truck with gay marriages. Our Black co-religionists had also been betrayed by Rev Jesse Jackson and his extra-marital fatherhood.

Teresa
Having nothing in his career to be proud of.
Being a extremely liberal Dem trying to appeal to a vastly conservative majority.
Being morally bankrupt.
Looking like the side of a tree.
And TERESA!

They thought after 2002 that they needed to do a better job of getting their message out. Well - they DID get it out. The sight of Mikey Moore in the Presidential Box at the DNC was the message.

Having Clintonistas run his campaign. No way they wanted him to win -- gotta clear the way for Her Heinous in '08!

I would say the number one miscalculation was that the Kerry people severly underestimated the burning desire in the American electorate for the restoration of moral values.

Indeed. This factor is closely associated with Kerry's decision to identify himself and his campaign with the depraved value system of the entertainment world and its leading authorities, Michael Moore, Bill Maher, etc. Sooner or later, and probably sooner, the Democrat Party will come to understand that its alliance with commercial pop-culture is now working against it. Hollywood glamor and celebrity endorsements worked for JFK and the anti-war movement of the 60s, but their power has been fading as the public advances along the saturation media learning curve. Michael Moore, for example, was heaven's gift to the razor-sharp intellects of the conservative bloggosphere: obese, arrogant, transparently dishonest, and so besotted with his own presumed power as to be entirely oblivious to how obvious this all is. The same is true of Baldwin, Streisand, and any number of other celebrity idiotarians; stupid, pathologically egotistical children whose status among simple minds blinds them to the mockery and ridicule that the more thoughtful and independent heap on their pretensions.

i think the very fact that Kerry is a New Englander lost the election for him... he just could not get the Southern vote and enough of the Midwest vote...

The biggest miscalculation was Kerry himself. He has no character, no charisma and no soul. People saw that.

Turning away from the war. He should've turned back into a hawk after his primary win, and never wavered. I still think he was unelectable.

Embracing clowns Like Michael Moore, and having the Fat POS sit next to Jimmy Carter at the Rat Convention in Boston. Middle America doesn't like traitors.

The ridiculous part about it is that bagged a goose but wouldn't carry it so as not to upset the PETA whackos.
