I've been thinking alot about that. I'm still not convinced that OBL tape was authentic. Another problem- the areas he wants to "hit" tend NOT to be in the states that went for Bush. I don't know what to think.

There is no doubt among the experts I've reviewed that it is authentic. Regarding the 'red' state threat. Remember a goal of this tape was to influence our election through a terror threat. That doesn't rule out any state.

I had this thought today. We were discussing the whole "individual states" thing on the last thread. Seems there have to be some things going on.

1. Hitting all the 'red' states at once would be wiser, rather than giving the others time to figure out what's going on and hyper-secure things.

2. There has to be a very large media presence at or very near the point of attack ('view it on CNN)

3. Of course, a large group of people.

This came to me......what meets all of these pre-requisites?

What about state-sponsored inaugural balls?

1. You can hit "individual states" -- at least metaphorically.

2. Huge media presence.

3. Large group of people.

What do ya'll think???
