The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

If you take F17 (like the aircraft) then it kind of makes sense with the line below it. Any thoughts?

I know of no aircraft designated as F-17.

I don't think it's tin foil at all. I was thinking along those lines with "river of red" or if you reverse it and research red river valley which runs along louisiana and mississippi coast - lots of refineries.

Doesn't the red river go through New Mexico also?

Could this just mean "river of blood"?

Yes - probably -- in the tape before OBL's they did mention rivers of blood. Trying to figure out what the reference to "carpet of black" shining through the night means. It makes me think of an oil slick shining off the water at night.

And this morning I have not had enough coffee to know anything.

Thanks. Mix it in with your coco puffs and get your sugar fix at the same time, LOL.

My WILD imagination...WARNING Apply TIN FOIL before reading.

Others may disagree with me, but an attack on the infrastructure of the country, such as a pipeline, is out side of the MO of AQ. Attacks in Iraq are something different and for another purpose. AQ has gone for the following types of targets:

1. Assassinations
2. Mass casualties (911, Spain, Sinai resorts)
3. Diplomatic / embassies (African embassies)
4. Military (USS Cole, Kobar towers)

There has been much discussion regarding infrastructure targets, bridges, etc. However, those targets would be likely IMHO only as a multiplier for casualties (cutting off excape / help routes). They love blood and would get very little attacking a pipeline. In most cases they are deeply buried in residential areas and surface in areas where a blast would do limited collaterial damage and loss on life. There are instances daily of this occuring. In many / most cases the ruptured natural gas pipeline just becomes a blow torch, nothing more.

The problem with dating the Night of Al-Qadr is that Muslims sources vary. Someone cited one making it to be the 25th, 27th or 29th night of Ramadan. I've found others which say any odd numbered night in the last 10 of Ramadan could be it.

The full moon reference is strange, since there is never a full moon on Al-Qadr, which always falls, regardless of what Muslim scholar the terrorists are using to date it, during the waning phase of the moon.

Dawn following an odd numbered night of Ramandan this year would be 8 Nov or 10 Nov. (Unless the observational start of Ramadan--it's based not on a calendar, but on seeing the waxing crescent for the first time--shifted it a day.) This fits with the timing suggested in the 'three lamps east, two lamps west' post on the Tips the EarthX And She bled thread at Sweetislam.

I hope the FBI and Texas Rangers are on this. If you have more analyses, send them to them. Sure the thread could be a honey pot, and the real strike will be somewhere else, but I've got the sense these jihadis aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. (I mean, if I were trying to send secret messages online, not even the NSA could find or read them.)

Thanks, DC. I'm glad I found this place. I was getting frustrated hearing about the "chatter" and not knowing what it was saying. Now I feel like I'm at least trying to make a difference.

Any chance one of the bad guys trained there?

I found another meaning for f17: F17 is the FAA designation for Center Muncipal Airport, Center, TX, near Houston.

Godzilla, they may be inclined to shift their tactics if they think that going after our infrastructure and our economy would hurt us more. Look at the emphasis in the MSM lately on the price of oil and natural gas, the volatility of supply, especially when the hurricanes in the Gulf shut down production for a while, and the jitters that the public gets every time they think we are going to have to go without.

They may have gotten the impression that we are more vulnerable through our consumption-based economy than through fear for our lives, as demonstrated by the fact that 51% of the country told the pig-lover Osama (may Allah shower hiim with luncheon meat) to get stuffed.

Wow, David, that brings the whole Texas scenario into sharper focus.

I think that may be shifted by a day. What is the source for Ramadan ending on the 11th? I found a Muslim calendar site which made today (7 November) the 24th day of Ramadan, but since Ramadan begins not according to the calendar, but according to direct observation of the moon, calendar sites are sometimes off by a day.
