The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

new world net daily article mentions Adnan too.

Bin Laden handing baton to mystery lieutenants?

Excerpt:
A second individual was heard on the Azzam tape. He is off-camera but asked Gadahn several questions. The assessment is that he is Adnan El Shukrijumah, a former Florida resident and an al-Qaida operative sought by the United States for more than a year.

The big question: Are Gadahn and El Shukrijumah in the United States and planning al-Qaida's encore to 9/11?

David, thanks. I sent a less detailed version citing sources and speculation. Maybe if they get multiple hits they'll be more inclined to chase it down.

I'm aware that this could all be a diversion to take peoples' attention away from what's really happening, but IMHO we can't afford to ignore anything that looks suspicious. I'd rather have a thousand amateurs chasing wild geese than an overworked gov't guy trying to decide which legitimate lead to deal with first.

One other question, which might or might not have already been addressed, but I feel I need to ask.

If we're reading them, can we assume they're reading us?

I'd say that's very possible. So much so that I would have my name removed from that post. Just for safe measures.

I have an issue with Mt. St. Helens, all it's been doing the past month is brewing don't you think? A few small puffs at first but it should not be forgotten about because an eruption seems on the way and it's strength seems to have only been strengthening.

If you check the web cam at night you'll often see a small glowing spot...

I guess that's where I was heading with it. Thanks for backing me up.

Took a look at Sweet Islam. I would love to be able to post some choice pictures of my own on that site. I don't want to soil myself with signing up, though, even if it were possible.

Here's a great tanker accident:

Tanker spill on I-390 in NY leaves chocolate-covered highway

A cargo from M&M Mars in Pennsylvania has caused chocolate-covered chaos on a Finger Lakes region highway in New York state.

Part of Interstate 390 near Groveland, about 36 miles southwest of Rochester, was closed for five hours Thursday night when the tanker crashed and spilled 45,000 pounds of slippery liquid chocolate that hardened.

A road grader was used to scrape the northbound lanes. The chocolate also covered a bridge and a car on another road below.

Quite possibly. Of course, if they are, we may never know whether our having made it clear that the Feds and the Texas Rangers know about this, has alone put the breaks on this particular plan. Or whether it was a diversion.

Of course, since I publicly identified myself, I guess I'll have to start carrying.

Paris Tells Palestinians to Remove Arafat

exactly a week after Arafat was admitted to the Percy military hospital near Paris, the French president put in a call to the White House and informed President George W. Bush that it was all over.

Paris and Washington both then swung into action.

An American delegation, organized at top speed by US Middle East diplomats, called on Palestinian prime minister Ahmed Qureia in Ramallah on Saturday, November 6,

and asked him how Washington could help expedite a fitting end to the episode. The visit was more a token of support than a practical offer of help.

The Mod's ahead of you on that and pulled the whole post. If the jihadis weren't reading this thread during the past few hours, they didn't see it. Still, I'll watch my back.

I just updated my note to the Texas Rangers with the possibility that it's Monday morning--which fits with the Koranic verse if the printed calendar got the start of Ramadan right.

Which would fit my estimate base upon the date of the post (Nov 5). Great Job.

Yes, that is so right. Isn't it wonderful? Morals was a lost cause during the clintoon admin. Took 4 years after clintoon's exit -- not to mention the recent liberal rampage against God and tradition -- to get the word "morals" back in common dialogue again. Thank God! It must really peeve the libs to no end.

I don't think they care what state it is in. Access, Opportunity, Location They have used Boston in the 911 Atrocities, for example

Under any other situation I would tend to agree with you. However, this was done within the context of the jihadi postings that have been evaluated over the past 24 hrs here. Within that context, it appears that there has been a stated threat against Texas and no other location is evident within the posts. Access, opportunity and location are all still valid within a Texas scenario.

Command Shifts Amid Fears of Terrorist Attacks on Ports
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-keating6nov06,0,5699763.story?coll=la-home-nation

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — Reflecting growing fears that a major terrorism attack could come by sea, a top American naval officer officially took over the U.S. Northern Command on Friday, vowing to enhance maritime security nationwide.

Adm. Timothy J. Keating, who is replacing retiring Air Force Gen. Ralph Eberhart, said terrorists considered America's ports vulnerable.

"It hasn't received a lot of attention because of the way they came at us on Sept. 11," he told reporters. "It may not be our biggest vulnerability, but it might be the way that terrorists think they might best attack us."

Northcom was established two years ago to coordinate domestic defense efforts alongside the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, which patrols the skies daily along with Canadian forces.

Keating took control of both commands in a ceremony here Friday attended by hundreds of military personnel and dignitaries such as Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul D. Wolfowitz and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard B. Myers.

"The cold-blooded murder of 3,000 Americans and citizens of many other countries Sept. 11 put us once again in the middle of a war we didn't go looking for, a war that came to us," Wolfowitz said. "The defense of our homeland depends today on the work of Northern Command. This is a long, hard fight. But make no mistake, it's a fight we will win."

Wolfowitz said Northcom had been successful in keeping the country safe during events seen as potential terrorist targets: two State of the Union addresses, two national political conventions, the G-8 summit in Georgia and the funeral of President Reagan, along with other events.

Eberhart, a former fighter pilot who flew 300 combat missions in Vietnam, was lauded as a warrior and visionary. His work, Meyers said, had lowered the risk of nuclear, biological or chemical attack on America.

"Ed set the bar very high at Northcom," he said. "Under his leadership, our nation is safer than it once was."

A few months ago, Eberhart warned that the next terrorist attack probably would come by sea because of porous security and the failure to ascertain the contents of the thousands of containers that flood into American ports daily.

In his farewell speech Friday, the general warned against complacency.

"What is important today is a future where we must not become apathetic," Eberhart said. "Every time you are tempted to close your eyes, see those twin towers explode, see the scar on the Pentagon and that field in Pennsylvania."

The choice of a naval commander to run an operation dominated by Air Force officers reflects the new reality of terrorism that could come from air, land or sea.

Keating is a former Navy fighter pilot who made 1,200 landings on aircraft carriers and flew combat missions in Operation Desert Storm. He also commanded forces in Bahrain, headed the U.S. Fifth Fleet and served as director of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

After the ceremony, Keating said port security wasn't as loose as some suggested.

"We have a formidable, layered defense in place that is active and effective right now," he said.

"That's not to say we won't look at it carefully and make changes in the weeks and months ahead. There is a lot more going on right now than most of us know, and that's important. We want to make sure the terrorists understand that they can't hurt us there."

"TOWEL HEADS"

Recently I received a warning about the use of this politically
incorrect term, so please try to pay attention.

We have been informed that the Islamic terrorists, who hate our guts,
do not like to be called "Towel Heads," since the item they wear on
their
heads is actually a small, folded sheet.

Therefore, from this point
forward, please refer to them as: "Little Sheet Heads."

Thank you for your support and compliance on this delicate matter.

(blushing) Thank you JP! Laura is a year younger than me. She is very pretty, very intelligent and seemingly very nice. I am, however, very fortunate, very happy and very consumed with keeping up with TM threads. I'm satisfied with what I have and what I don't have, I don't need.
