Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!
Congratulations President Bush!!
It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!
And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!
I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).
The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.
So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?
If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.
Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!
By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!
Bump to talk to my husband about it!!
Oh and I forgot to say- which area Freeper couch am I crashing on? LOL!! Finding a room could be an experience...
Woo Hoo!
Cool!
Contact me, We'll see what we have to do. Might have to have sleepin' bags.......
Do a priceline or hotwire search of Washington DC and see what you come up with. I think you may be able to take the metro to where the ball is going to be. Alexandria is a personal favorite :). You can also call Gallaudet University in DC - this is a university where deaf students are educated - they run a hotel on their school grounds that I heard is similar to a Days Inn, for about 70 dollars a night. The students run it. I know that sounds odd but its true.
Oh My! I better call and get some.
Fishtalk. I am hoping to go to this ball with Roselani and Mrs. Liberty. They happen to be my sisters. Almost two years ago, I started corresponding with Rabid Republican who is now Rabid Dog. She jump started some rallies and things in Ventura County CA and I helped where I could. Met a few more Freepers - Mayflower Madam for one. When President Reagan died, I met a slew of Freepers. And then later this summer, in July, Rabid organized a Reagan Library tour and then a bunch of us met at her house for some good eats. What an awesome time! Doodlelady doodled, People's Republic and Hangfire jammed, DFU was there with his cool PT cruiser and Jim Robinson, his wife and son all were there. The best way to describe this is YOU FEEL IMMEDIATELY at home. Maybe you are more to the center and some are more to the right, but your basic values and beliefs are similar. What I am saying is, that you will know everybody, and they will know you. You will be comfortable. Its a good feeling to be with other Freepers.
I can be a 1. Maybe a west coast freeper lady can be my 2? I hate to attend a Formal event alone. BTW I am a 37 year old single dad. I guess I'll put a pic on my about page.
I don't know about shairng rooms but maybe would could get a deal if we booked a block of rooms. We would all get to meet each other that way too.
I guess you can freepmail me if interested.
Thanks! This is going to be a blast - I look forward to meeting all the great Freepers who will be there.
Bump for a date
Bump for a JimRob thread
Bump since the other thread was yanked
Yes, the link worked . Good letter. You go Girl!!!
I send in quite a few letters to both papers "nearby" .. the Cleveland PD & Akron BJ. now & then they get published. The published letters are liberal 90% of time. Surprise! HAHA
YEs, at The Silverware ball, we stayed north of DC and took a short cab ride. WE had three ladies all sharing one room, 2 gents in another and I had my own room by choice and budget--it's a SNORING thing.
Freepers were pretty well scattered about in hotels, some down in Crystal City. Remember the MEtro is very easy to use and on Inauguration Night will likely be running late.
Taxi's also, we got around very easily. Freepers are pretty good at sharing.
