Even if Bush wins Ohio and Florida, he will need New Mexico in order to offset a defeat in New Hampshire! This is not going well...

Not true. I believe Bush can win all he did in 2000, lose NH and still win.

Several of Bush's states have additional electoral votes from the 2000 census and some Gore/Kerry states have lost a few.

Bush is only down less than 6k in NH with 35% left to report. I wouldn't sweat it right now.

Not so.

Due to reapportionment, Bush gets 278 with the same states as last time. He can give NH and still be at 274 without gaining a single state.

Not true. If Bush holds all his states except NH, he still gets 274 EVs.

Nope. Bush doesn't need either NM or NH if he wins Florida and Ohio.

CNN.org has NM 52 Bush, 46 Kerry 51% in. Don't worry....

The census resulted in a net gain of eight electoral states to previous Bush states.

Losing NH is not a problem. It would be lovely to take NM or HI (or both) but we need to retain Nevada.

FLORIDA IS BUSH COUNTRY!!!!

GO OHIO!!!!

Even if Bush wins Ohio and Florida, he will need New Mexico in order to offset a defeat in New Hampshire! No we won't. Bush states picked up 7 electoral votes from redistricting. If bush were to win all of his 2000 states he would have 7 more electoral votes than he had in 2000.

No, he really doesn't need NM if he takes Fla and Ohio.
The C-Span map shows him with 209 EV. Add Alaska (3) Oh & Fl (47)Nev. Colo> & Ark. (total 20)and you have 279 EV and a winner!
