Did they say it was because too many people waiting to fit into the 'chute' outside the polling place or is there some other reason?

It's BAD!!!

That's how Carnahan beat Ashcroft in MO by stealing votes in the St. Louis area!

I don't like it at all electoral votes still too close to call I want to see either Ohio or Florida called for Bush so I can relax a little.

Maybe we need all precincts throughout the country be open 24 hours for one day so voting can fit anyone's schedule.

I thought I heard that only if you were in line after the polls closed you would be allowed to vote.

Bad. Not just a city, a college town - Ohio State. And don't kid yourself that it's a conservative college. The faculty and their families are surely overwhelmingly Dem.

it's "Bus The Blacks" all over again. You can thank the NAACP for that one.

Jimminy Cricket! Elections have laws and rules! You don't add time to the football game if the other team finally is getting its act together with 1 minute left in the 4th quarter!!! This sort of Bovine Excrement just drives me up the wall.

They are extended for the people in line at the time the polls close. They can't deny someone the right to vote just because we weren't equipped to handle the turnout. I just got back from the precinct I worked in Westerville because Bush-Cheney HQ was concerned that people would become discouraged and go home without voting. They sent anyone that flushed or poll-watched today back to wherever they had worked earlier.

Does anyone have a good site for realtime returns for Ohio? That official site sucks. It doesn't tell you what percentage of the precincts have reported.

Larger turnouts tend to favor Democrats. So it's not good.

I disagree
Our daughter is an RT in NICU at Children's Hospital. She got in line at 6:10 am for voting to start at 6:30....called work to report she'd be late as there were 300 in line. They told her she had to come in but would let her off early to vote in the evening, and she called me on her way to the polls at 6:30....said she would call when done and has not!!! working people, professionals voting after work....this is a good thing!!!!!
