A few of my friends have done just that over the last few years. We are indeed lucky to be "Girt by Sea" although many elite Europeans in the 1800's and 1900's regarded Australia as a backwater to be avoided at all costs. Deluded souls that they were. The Australian Government is a little selective on who it gives residency to, but that is not a bad thing. Australia's population policy has gone through many changes over the decades.
In Jewish mysticism it is claimed that each part of the world will have a place to play in the redemption process. I am very happy to live in this great country although whatever country I have lived in throughout my life I have enjoyed.
P.S. An historical immigration footnote...In the 1940's and 50's Australia needed more immigrants. We were seriously underpopulated. Some clever person in the government/civil service of the day came up with the slogan "Eat meat three times a day !" to attract people from Europe, especially Britain to emigrate. The posters appeared in many Australian emigration offices in the Old Dart. The campaign was highly successful as it summed up in a very clear and concise manner the benefits of moving to Australia.

You are so right. Believe me, I have felt like you feel tonight
For years Really! I hate those bast*rds!.
The old media is America's most ruthless and destructive institution! It MUST end for this country to survive. Look how close they came here. The ultimate hoax, putting that soulless, selfish opportunist(Kerry) into the White House was quite within reach. The old media MUST be broken up somehow!

Pfft.
We have a clear winner.
This will not drag on, they are going to get smacked down tomorrow and the American people are going to have a fit over what they have attempted to do. This is just the MSM and DNC throwing a hissy fit they couldn't stop Dubya's election.

The PA margin is 121,818, in a race where more votes were counted. So it's closer than Ohio. But the talking heads aren't discussing this. I guess it's not a DNC talking point.
Yo! Brian Kilmeade! Mention this!!!.

This is the most dispicable thing I have ever seen from the MSM. They can't even pretend what they did was ethical!

Democrats have nobody but themselves to blame.
Faced with a difficult war, President Bush has made difficult, unpopular decisions that he resolutely and honestly believed at the time were the correct ones. Even his enemies must give him that much.
Accordingly, a politically vulnerable CinC stood accountable, shortcomings and all, and made his case as best he could directly to the American people. The Democrats could have cleaned his clock, IMO, had they shown him the basic decency and respect due a wartime CinC, and nominated a centrist, Mark Warner-type Southern Governor who would not have polarized the country and would have cherry-picked VA, West VA, and NC from Dubya's sea of red.

Oh how I hope the other 55 or more million people who voted for him are as enraged as I am. ---
Here's one!

It is a battle we must fight everyday...Great post Jim, thank you.

Everybody notice how they pay more attention to worthless exit polls then actual votes.

DH watched everything but election coverage, and I was here, mainlining my election news. My aggrivation level was very low.

With me ,I guess I can't say it was total aggrivation.
In my gut, it just seemed the natural thing to have happen.

The Dems followed a ridiculous playbook cooked up by Bob Shrum (an old McGovern/Ted Kennedy hack) and frustrated Clinton/Gore and Dukakis flunkies all still smarting from previous lost battles. They have tried to "spin" their way into the White House. So far it has not worked.
The Kerryoids may have missed the G Spot of politics - the God Factor.
Kerry has fallen like Lucifer - by force of gravity.
To: conservative in nyc
While Bush is closer (121,818) in PA, which is in Kerry's column. The media are scared to call OH for Bush.
