What is going on in New Mexico?

An hour ago Bush was ahead with 103% of the vote in and a 30000 vote lead. Now he is less than 2000 and the precinct vote coming in at 99%, 4 percent less. Somebody needs to explain this as it has been all of the sites who have been reporting this discrepancy. Did Bill Richardson machine simply add in some phony ballots. Please don't tell me this is happening?

Michael Beschloss, the presidential historian, has just lost his mind on national TV! He just said that Howard Dean should run in 2008, and would be a good candidate!

Sleep deprivation does terrible things to a presidential historian.

That's to be expected, they were saying that the 20K or so ballots from Columbus weren't added in yet earlier.

Didn't Bush just have a 30,000 vote cushion with like 98% of the vote in?

NM vote fraud may be one of the best political secrets, ever

Didn't the same thing happen in NM in 2000?

Are all 'provisional' votes,,,legit, and therefore counted?

No.

First time voters who couldn't show ID will vote provision and have the vote counted.

If the county election office made a mistake and a voter wasn't on the rolls in the precinct in which the provisional vote is cast, it will count.

If someone showed up to vote, filled out a provisional ballot and there is no record of them having been registered, that vote isn't counted.

If they showed up in the wrong precinct the vote isn't supoose to count.

One would have to assume county election offices made massive mistakes for thousands of provisional ballots to turn out to be legitimate.

But those ballots are now under the control of county boards so who knows.

King's been on the set for almost 9 hours straight now. His Depends seem to be holding up well.

Thanks for that one, I was starting to get that glazed over look here, but that one made me laugh!!

FYI; most of the non-reporting precincts in Iowa are rural and conservative (or very small). The local nets called it for Bush hours ago. I have NO idea what the hold-up is on this.
