I just voted in New Bedford, Ward 6. I voted for Bush-Cheney, Morse, the Independent, rather than Barney Frank, and Tom Hodgson, Republican, seeking re-election as sheriff of Bristol County. All the other names on the ballot are DHIMMICRATS. I left them as blank as they have left my wallet for the past God-knows-how-many years.

All the poll workers were senior women, and they all looked like librarians and church ladies. LOL. When the poll-worker checked off my name on the list, I noticed that there was a woman's name there; SUPPOSEDLY she lives in the apartment across the hallway from me!!! "OH, REALLY," I shouted! "I've lived in my apartment for 10 years. I recognize the name - that woman has not lived in that apartment for at least 10 years now!"

I do hope this does not indicate yet another liberal with multiple personalities and aliases and the delusion that this entitles them to vote more than once in the same election! ;-) Or should I say SAD, VERY SAD!

I was going to vote before work but the line to get into the school was a mile long.

I dropped my son off and am going back at 3.

Someone who lived in my town called me on her cell phone at 9 and said that she had never seen so many cars to vote. She thought if she got there at 9 she would miss the before work crowd.

My son's school took the kids on a field trip today to get them away from the voters (you vote at his school). I just got a call from the school saying that all parents should pick up their children at the high school because the traffic was still really bad.

I know there are at least 5 votes in my town for Bush. There were a lot of yellow and red, white and blue ribbons on people's cars so I am hoping there are more.

My wife and I voted Bush in Charlestown about 7:30 this morning. We had to wait in line about 30 minutes. Not having to show ID was unsettling. I will say this though - There were probably 200 - 300 people there and maybe only 2 or 3 blacks. I was surprised because the school we voted in is right next to a large area of public housing. Make what you want of those observations...I saw no pro-Bush or pro-Kerry indications whatsoever from the crowd, people were polite and quiet.

Hubby went out early in our small SE MA town and saw an oddity along the way. Over night, lawn signs, which had been nonexistent, have appeared along the route to the polls and they are, shockingly, 4:1 for Bush.

It's a different place than it was when I moved here years ago.

There are intolerant Dems, but there are a lot more people brought up as Dems have turned into split ticket voters.

I am amazed at how many R's or W supporters I am finding.

I just came back from casting my vote for Bush, only to see that 'rat bastard Kerry on Fox casting his vote, cancelling mine out! ;^}

Anyway, my wife cast the tie breaker for W.

You would be surprised at who and how many agree with you. Discretion is the better part of valor-- always good not to activate an intolerant knee jerk liberal, but don't let the fact that they are so vocal and intimidating lead you to believe that MA is a monolith.

They wouldn't be so hostile if they really believed that we all agreed with them.

Ask yourself how many yellow ribbons saying we support our troops and stars and stripes ribbons you have seen on cars. Or how many MA voters are veterans or active in the military. Or how many small business owners are getting clobbered by Mumbles Menino and the never ending money squeeze.

Then ask yourself how many married parents in MA really believe that Kerry will keep them safe? His reputation as a lackluster lazy liberal who spouts "Do You Know Who I Am?" is pretty commonplace.

For the first time ever I was able to vote for Republican candidates for US Congress, State Rep and Senator. Not write-ins, either. At 12:30 I was voter no. 703 in Arlington 16th Precinct. The guy at the ballot box said the turn out was quite good, that there were 100 in line when they opened up this morning. I'd say that's bad news for the dems.

Hmmmm interesting.. could be HOW Teddy and Kerry get elected all the time.. removing a percentage of republican voters from the list sent to the polling places... Republicans generally have no backbone.. many would just LEAVE... Putting those republicans on a "the" list from some wazoo precinct they don't know about only to claim, damn we made a mistake AFTER the election..

Maryz; I have had a lot of positive responce for my Viet Nam Vets Against Kerry, bumper stickers in Southie. Southie is not a liberal friendly place and the liberals have not been friendly to Southie rats either.

In the twenty years that I have worked in Southie I have had some really outragious Liberal and Rat Bashing stickers and signs on my truck and have never had an act of vandalism. The only person that made an objection to to one of my signs was Kevin Burke, brother of Legal Council to The Senete Prez Bulger, "Liberals Are The Other White Meat", Racist.

That was quickly put to rest by a Black Woman from Mission Hill, a good friend, and minority Nation Eboard Member who said Kevin you are a jerk, she, LOL.

My wife got into an argument with a poll worker this morning because the poll worker was insisting that she had to vote for a candidate in each race on the ballot - that she couldn't leave any of the races blank...

Oh, anti-liberal -- yes, there used to be a lot of those! LOL! I do see a lot of flags, Support our Troops and Proud to be an American. Just most of the (few) political stickers are for local elections.

In my current residence in town of SE Mass. there was only one Republican on the entire ballot. The Prez received an ace today on at least 1 ballot. I could not in good conscience vote for anybody else, especially those running unopposed.

My Republican leanings are well known on the Island. I was happy to have several people approach me and whisper that they agree with us (FReepers for Bush) this morning outside the polling place.

I dare to dream that somehow JF'nK might have to deal with the additional humiliation of loosing in the Island vote, in addition to giving a national concession speech....

Just voted in my precinct. Very short ballot this year. Voted straight GOP and left blank the Rats running unopposed. Wasn't that crowded but when I signed in, I noticed almost all my neighbors had already been in to vote. So I guess a lot of people voted early this year.

I feeling cautiously optimistic about Bush's chances (not here in Massachusetts but nationwide). Should never have been this close though.
