My fiancee, a registered Republican, was not on the list at the local polling place. But she has a lot of spirit and started to argue with the poll workers who were going to make her leave, forcing them to call the election office and confirm that she was properly registered and supposed to vote at that polling location. They admitted their "mistake" and let her vote.

Well, here's ONE vote for Bush in Jamaica Plain....don't expect many more from Ward 11 Precinct 9.

Still VERY upset that there's no ID requirement to vote.

If you haven't seen my Locale post, I tried to get my Grand Daughter a provisional ballot after she sat at the table provided, I told the guy that she was a Kerry Voter.

Because she is only 1 1/2 and can't talk to well they rejected her.

I voted at 7am when the polls opened and was heading to my car by 7:04. But the lines were going out the door when I left.

I live along the NH border in a middle class, small business owner neighborhood. Bush to Kerry signs are generally 1:1. But what's great is that the houses on busy streets have 4 or more Bush signs on them.

I would like to see Kerry have a hard time in MA, because it's really funny that "he's a great closer" in a heavily Democrat state. It could happen. Romney got 1.7million votes and he's a Republican governor. So why not a Republican president?

Sorry-- the rules posted at my MA polling place said ID was required if you were a first time voter having registered by mail. Courtesy of Bill Galvin.

Why not a Republican president? In Massachusetts?

We're still talking the dumb people of the Commonwealth that keeps on sending Kennedy back down to Washington....aren't we?

Didn't Massachusetts go for Mondale? (I was 13...and more interested in girls than politics)

I voted about 7:30 in Southie. There was a line before 7:00, when I was on my way to Mass, and there was still a line when I went to vote. Must have been a lot of people because the line was moving quickly.

No signs in Southie, and almost no bumper stickers (those I've seen: 3 pro-Bush, 3 pro-Kerry, 2 anti-Kerry). Of course, Southie people have been known to smash windshields over a misappropriated shoveled-out parking space, so that may account for the dearth of signs.

I was amused to note last Saturday that even Steve Lynch (D-MA), who is from Southie, doesn't have a Kerry sign or a Kerry bumper sticker (at least not on the car with the congressional plates). Of course, Kerry was booed in Southie not too long ago . . . (satisfied snicker)

Boxborough: Ward 0, Percinct 1. (the only precinct): Long lines at 7:00 AM and two Bush votes registered. I only Hope that Boxborough might go for Bush.

Speaking of lines.....my JP precinct had at least 100 people waiting when I got there at 6:45 AM....mostly those going to work. Polls opened at EXACTLY 7:00 and it went fairly quickly...only 10-15 minutes.

I'm sure that I wasn't the ONLY Bush voter there....but I may have been.

Voted Bush at 9am in Bedford. In and out in 5 minutes. Kedwards signs were 10-1. My wife will cancel out my vote but my 2 Bush supporter daughters (5-7) were singing "I'm a Texas Tiger, your a Liberal Wiener..." all morning. Needless to say, my wife wasn't very happy.

My wife and I voted Bush in Charlestown about 7:30 this morning. We had to wait in line about 30 minutes. Not having to show ID was unsettling. I will say this though - There were probably 200 - 300 people there and maybe only 2 or 3 blacks. I was surprised because the school we voted in is right next to a large area of public housing. Make what you want of those observations...I saw no pro-Bush or pro-Kerry indications whatsoever from the crowd, people were polite and quiet.
