It is a bit after 5am, but I just got woken up by a call from someone in the GOP who shared with me that the early voters and absentee ballots are suggesting that if the trend holds, we are looking at Bush 55, Kerry 45.
It comes down to this; TURNOUT. If our folks show up in numbers, it wont even be close and we will know by 10pm San Diego time that Bush has been reelected. If you get out there and vote, this thing is over TONIGHT.
You know what to do, so dont let the door hit you on your way out. GET OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This morning my brother-in-law, who has never voted for a Republican candidate at any level (local, state, or national) in his entire life, cast his ballot for President Bush. I think this may be a sign from God that he is destined to win.
My gut feeling is voter fraud may actually be minimized this year over other years. Too much attention. Thieves don't like attention.
It only took an hour in Decatur (Emory area)...I was there at 6:45 and was in the slowest alphabetical line by far. By the time I had voted the line had disappeared.
We won't know the winner for several weeks.
I doubt that.
When's the last time a Presidential candidate got 65%? Just curious. I went back as far as 1900; Johnson's 61% was the highest I could find.
That's quite a dream world you live in. :-)
My hopes and prayers are with you folks.
We love our President, and we are not going to let him get taken down by a bunch of hateful, lying SOBs.
I'm 6'1" 275 solidly put together and a rugby player. I have black hair and a goatee and a very menacing presence. I just gave him my game face and it looks like he $h%t in his pants. Kicking him did cross my mind, but the way I dissed him was a body blow. Total outright rejection!
Can't a guy dream? (;^)~
Jeff,
350? Heart loves the sound of that.
Mind says something in the neighborhood of 300.
Either way: W wins, Iraq wins, Freedom wins.
(private to Tom Daschle: Buh-bye!)
I was shocked that our priest actually stood up after Mass and told us that it was the moral imperative of every citizen of the US to get out and vote. I held my breath, waiting for the bad part, but he stopped there. Then they passed out the "Serious Catholics Guide to Voting". Bush should carry my area with no problem, but it may help the Congressional race.
I commuted into Penn Station NYC this morning. I usually walk from 34th St. up past Times Square. There were Kerry people on every corner trying to give out Kerry buttons. They were all but ignored by commuters. Very few takers - people just snubbed them and kept walking. A few Vote or Die losers outside the GMA set drawing zero attention. I see this as a very positive sign.
Given the Poli Sci pinheads I know -- in-laws, PhD's, college profs -- that's quite a confession. Were you a card-carrying commie in school? Or just another bleeding-heart liberal? ;O)
AMEN! And millions will ....glory to GOD
I live in a heavy Republican area of Virginia. I usually vote before work (around 7 am). Usually, there is NO wait and I get right in. Today? Lines out the door. 30+ minute wait. I was approx #500 to vote at around 7:30.
I drove by another polling place on the way to work--more lines out the door.
Not to be a wet blanket, but this thread seems to me like Premature celebratory gasm. But, what the hey? Got to get through the day somehow, and it could be worse.
Is your "55-45" tipoff man a "high order of confidence" insider, or something less?
