I suspect that is what we have told them privately, in clear if less explicit terms. If Bush is reelected, such a warning is credible. If we elect Kerry, then we a nuclear strike becomes far more likely.

It seems to me that the most likely target would be a US base in Europe, in non-nuclear Italy or Spain perhaps, and preceded by a brief public warning to inspire terror and a sense of helplessness. A European target would have less challenging operational requirements and would serve the Islamist strategy of trying to split Europe from the US.

Well, it should be obvious, even to the dimmest wit, that right now the SMs* worldwide have zero incentive to root out the killers among them. Indeed, they keep training more.

Personally I would keep it more proportional. Say one square mile of every SM* capital for each terrorist incident in the U.S.? Conventional weapons should suffice.

Sorry - won't happen. This country is far too politically correct and dependent upon what other nations think to do anything of the sort.

The mindset this country had during WWII and the will to use these terrible weapons in defense of our homeland has all but disappeared.

When the islamic pigs DO use a nuke on our soil, alot of muslim blood will spill, but the nuclear option, I fear, would still be off the table.
