One of our Dachshunds is nicknamed "Raptor", because she snaps for food and we've all been nailed in the fingers by her.
Ironically, the Rottweiler is gentle as a lamb and she nibbles food carefully from our fingers with never a slip-up.

My psychic abilities also tell me that your Dachshund a) is stubborn as hell, and b) likes to crawl under blankets and sleep there, and c) tries to wedge itself behind your back (or at least your side) when you sit in a chair.
