Goodness Sakes! Felons can vote after confinement!
Didn't see the "Vote early and often" advice though. :>)

Yes, Illinois allows me to vote.
A couple of years ago at age 57, for the first time in my life, I was arrested, tried, convicted of a felony.
Possession of a gun. NOT threatening anyone with it or brandishing it in any way - Just possessing it.
For my crime I paid $1500 fine and probation costs and was on probation for 18 months and lost any rights to ever own a gun legally. At age 59 I am a convicted felon and have lost a lot and paid a lot and continue to pay but fortunatly for me Illinois allows me to vote--and they don't even require that I be branded on the forehead as one FReeper suggested that felons be required to do.
Close unscientific poll that makes us feel good bump!
Bush 43.33% 429
Kerry 56.67% 561

voted. Kerry's up 58-41
That sure puts it in a different light. As an avid gun enthusiast I would find it difficult to not legally own guns. I hope your family has a good gun collections i.e., G. Gordon Liddy. Glad you have the right to vote and don't have to be "branded".
Best,
mc
Let's roll Freepers!
I can't legally own guns but my wife can - she has several.
