Many soldiers will have a tough decision to make if Kerry is commander in chief

My son in law is in the Navy. After 5 years, he re-upped last year for 3 more. He has thought of making it a career and proudly serves his country.

But like many, many of his comrades, he wonders what he will do if John Kerry becomes the commander in chief.

He knows all about Kerry --- testifying to lies in the Senate, the Winter Soldier lies, the questionable medals, the visits to Paris, the vote whether to assassinate senators, etc. He knows that Kerry's words were used to torture men in custody.

Soldiers and sailors everywhere are worried. Those who have made it a career know that the commander in chief will change and it might not be someone with whom they agree. But he is the commander in chief, and they do their job to serve the country. That is what comes first.

But our warriors have never faced anything like this. Clinton loathed the military and hurt the military, but they survived. With Kerry, they know that they are facing the prospect of being commanded by someone who can truly be called a traitor.

Many of our finest will wonder what to do. Would commander in chief Kerry force them to wear the blue helmets of the U.N.? Would he turn them over to a world court for justice? Would he veto funding bills like the $87 billion?

I had written previously that under Kerry, we might need a draft because of the number of soldiers who would not serve under him.

Right now, our military is the best in the world. Among the reasons are that the men and women respect their commander in chief. And their commander in chief respects them. We will have a nightmare on our hands if the commander changes right now.

"Almost no military man/women will serve under a CIC such as him."

I am Major in the Army Reserve with 17 years of service.

I will resign my commission and forfeit all my benefits.

I'll not serve under a traitor such as John Kerry.

TG, this was intended to rally the troops and remind them what is at stake. We must vote and make sure every Bush supporter we know votes.

Best guarantee that we'll need and get a draft within two years is to elect Kerry......

find a place that has a bar and one one of those paging things. Makes it worthwhile.

The bar thing might work, but the rest of that gig doesn't fly. When I'm hongry, I'm hongry!!

We never had a president who had blatantly violated Article 104 of the UCMJ (Aiding the Enemy, which is what he did during his trip to Paris while still holding a Naval Reserve commission), a.k.a. treason. This is a far worse action than what Bill Clinton did when he was supposed to be at Oxford. I fail to see why Effing Kerry was never prosecuted for this.

If not a draft, the military could change significantly. It is likely that the Gore plan would be instituted as well as many other changes that could result in a military similar to Germany - nice uniforms, political correctness but unable to really conduct a serious war.

They would probably all wear the blue helmets of the U.N. if they did enter combat.

I have seen may posts on this thread indicating That One serves the nation, and not the man.

I whole heartedly agree with that sentiment.

However, when the SH*t is hot and heavy, I do not want to be in a position where either I or my troops have to think about what happens to me if my position is over run and I become a POW.

With GWB in charge, none of has to give that a thought at all.

With the prospect of the other guy being the CINC, I shudder even contemplateing it.

I have done all in my power to elect GWB.

My mom is a retired teacher in NJ and I forwarded to her Stuff about what THK thinks of teachers and "real jobs". I hope I have changed even on vote in NJ from Kerry to GWB.

There will be a draft if Kerry is elected. Most of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines will leave active duty.

There is was and always will be a thing called morale, and a Kerry as CinC will destroy it. Lets face it Kerry as President is an historical anomaly. This is not a case of this too shall pass.

Flew for US Navy 1973-78. Carter's Navy was a very dangerous place for people who depended on sober and knowledgable mechanics. The aircrew and ground pounders were more often stoned than not. Engines were rebuild by dopers in St. Louis. Kerry is not a leader and knows nothing of descipline. He is a traitor and everyone knows it. Maggots all.

Here's another scenario. You're a contractor with Haliburton. Your contract expired last month. Do you wait to see who's in the White House for the next four years? I will.

And if Kerry reinstates a draft... WHOA! There will be an explosion from the Right like has never been heard before. Civil war.

I would rather see this Republic destroyed than to see even one young man forced to fight under John Kerry's command.

"..... Carter's Navy was a very dangerous place ..."

Remember his play to free the hostages, "desert...something". I don't know who I pitied more reading about it the next day, the dead or the officers who lived.

I am confident that Bush will win, too.

Good luck in the Air Force. I was (am - once a Marine always a Marine) a Marine and I can tell you one thing, the Air Force folks sure know how to live. I'm sure you'll have a great time. Just remember one thing, don't get married during your first enlistment, you'll be much happier if you wait.

My brother-in-law flew F-15's until 2000. He purposely delayed his retirement until after Bush was inaugurated because he didn't want Clintoon's name on his papers.
