At the risk of being labeled an inveterate pessimist, as we approach what may prove to be the most critical election day in our republics history, I cannot help but feel a sense of discouragement about Americas future (accompanied, of course, by the knowledge that He works in miracles, so nothing is ever hopeless).
As I see it, we will witness one of three likely outcomes of the November 2nd vote:
(1) If the election is close, the thousands of leftist trial lawyers hired by the DNC and/or Kerry/Edwards, who are already gearing up to take this election out of the hands of the American citizenry and place it in the hands of activist judges, will shift into high gear, and begin an all-out effort to use a combination of validating massive voter fraud, and fabricating pseudo-legal accusations against Bush/Cheney forces, to steal this election. They are preparing to make Florida 2000 look like a romp in the park.
I find it fascinating, although certainly not out of character for these supposed defenders of truth and justice, that they and their kind despise and defile Richard Nixon, whose only major offense was the attempted cover-up of a third-rate political burglary. And yet, faced with the prospect of unveiling blatant voter fraud in Illinois and Texas, without which he may well have been the victor over Kennedy in 60, Nixon, rather than contest the votes in those highly suspicious precincts vote counts, passively accepted the highly questionable results. The reason: he did not want to put our republic through the kind of cataclysmic Constitutional crisis that would have ensued.
Fast forward forty-four years and we have the same party that was the source of the questionable vote counts in both Chicago and Houston/Dallas, not only not seeking to avoid such a Constitutional crisis, but scheming feverishly, days before the votes are even cast, to see to it that one occurs. Why? Because they are enemies of the Constitution, and will stop at nothing to see to it that an ultra leftist (who, by definition, harbors no allegiance to anything but a globalist utopian agenda) sits in the White House. The Constitution and Americas sovereignty and security be damned.
If Tuesday sees the above scenario, we may not know the results of this election until well into the month of December, when the electoral college must meet to choose the new leader of the free world.
(2) If Kerry/Edwards are victorious on the 2nd, the voters of America (although probably not a majority of them since a statistically significant number of dead people, house pets, felons, illegals, and people with multiple residences will have cast their votes for the democrat ticket) will have voted on the basis of superficial, Madison-Avenue-created, sound bite knowledge that bears no resemblance to truth. The majority of Kerry/Edwards votes will have been cast -- thanks to a combination of voter apathy and rampant media bias -- without the benefit of a genuine knowledge of the democrat candidates decades-long resumes that exhibit an unambiguous adherence to a treasonous, anti-American agenda.
(3) Bush/Cheney will be victorious. This will be a remarkable outcome (occurring in spite of all borderline criminal machinations), and will only occur if the Republican tickets genuine support is nothing short of landslide proportions, the likes of which could not even be negated by massive voter fraud and pre-election plans to steal the electoral votes of swing states whose totals appear close.
But, even if Bush/Cheney are victorious, we cannot long rest on our laurels and assume that all is well. Far from it.
After an election loss, leftists do not simply lick their wounds and accept the voice of the people. And the stakes in this election will magnify beyond all reason the leftist penchant to attack, subvert and destroy those who took victory from their grasp. Elitists, after all, were destined to rule, to dictate, to dole out largesse to the masses. And when the masses do not place them in the positions of power to which they have been called, elitists become enraged, and insatiably vindictive. Civility and law/truth/justice will find themselves obscured by the obsession to gain the power that was not won through the normal channels that representative republican government supplies.
The mainstream media will be relentless in the criticisms, attacks, and counterfeit stories aimed at the President and his lame-duck administration (After all, what price has Dan Rather played for his unprofessional, agenda-driven reporting of the Bush/National Guard memos story? The collective long-term yawn with which the public has reacted to his journalistic charlatanism has simply provided the unaccountable media a green light for more of the same).
Even small errors of judgment on the part of this President will be grotesquely magnified so as to rise to the level of an impeachable offense. And the war on terror especially that portion of it occurring within the borders of Iraq will be consistently painted with a broad black brush, with the objective of portraying it as Bushs Waterloo, and Americas final imperialistic failure.
No matter the results of this election, the one and only thing that can prevent the ultimate success of the leftist agenda, many more horrifying terrorist attacks within our borders, and the eventual demise of the glorious American experiment, is the American citizen.
If the polls are accurate, a man who is seeking the Presidency of a nation he loathes is at least within striking distance of a leader who, although his domestic policy weaknesses are numerous, has conducted the war on terror, and the beginnings of the rebuilding of a liberated nation, with something close to brilliance. It would appear that the average American citizen needs either a more responsible, realistic set of priorities, or to spend significant time contemplating the serious, prophetic warning of one of our visionary Founders:
No people will tamely surrender their liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and virtue is preserved. On the contrary, when people are universally ignorant they will sink under their own weight without the aid of foreign invaders Samuel Adams in a letter to James Warren, 4 November, 1775

Who does she look like (maybe fifteen years ago)? And shes Irish, too. Eerie.
I have been walking door-to-door, and making phone calls in south-central Pennsylvania for three weeks, and will continue through tomorrow night. At least here in this part of the state/country, there has been a perceptible shift toward the democrat ticket in the past two days. I pray that that shift is not representative of a nationwide trend.
Apparently a Kerry documentary ran on various cable channels both here in Pennsylvania, and in other battleground states, over the weekend. It was referenced by quite a few people with whom I have spoken in the last forty-eight hours. I have not seen it, but, from what I have been told about its contents, it is a powerful piece of leftist propaganda, aimed at portraying Kerry as (among other fabricated roles) a champion of Vietnam vets (showing him comforting family members of those still missing in action, and showing him and John McCain returning from a senate-sponsored trip to Vietnam, taken in order to bring closure to the Vietnam story). I cant help but wonder how many battleground-state undecideds have been affected by this piece of documentary garbage.
The only way this election can be stolen is if the results in the ten or so swing states are close. In which case, we cannot blame the thieves we must blame the uninformed voters, without whom the ground would not have been fertile for the thieves to begin their legal (in name only) assault on the electoral process. Because the only way the votes in those states can be close is if the voters in those states have no idea of the contents of the resumes of the democrat contenders. If the average American voter truly knew what the candidates represent, the polls would be showing Bush/Cheney holding a commanding lead.
I have discovered over the past three weeks that, if you lay in front of the average American voter the truth about John Kerrys Vietnam service (a.k.a. Vietnam posing), his overt commiseration with the enemy (both here in the US and in Paris), and his socialist-agenda-driven twenty-year record in senate government, he is aghast. If you present to the average American voter the truth about John Edwards methods for amassing his personal wealth and power (a.k.a. the premeditated dismantling of the medical system in North Carolina through the use of self-enriching junk science), his role in the Clinton senate impeachment trial, and his socialist-agenda-driven six-year senate term, he is aghast.
But the average American voter is way too busy to ferret out such facts on his own (a fact that grants the unelected, unaccountable mainstream media, and campaign ads that bear no resemblance to reality, a power that borders on omnipotence), so a large majority of Kerry/Edwards voters will be casting their votes on the basis of ignorance borne of apathy, during an era when ignorance and apathy on the part of the citizens of America are the strongest weapons in our enemies arsenal, and the most insidious threat to human freedom that has ever existed. The American voter, a slave to leftist propaganda, will serve as the bottom-line reason this once proud and glorious republic allows itself, for the first time in our history, to be reduced to reliance on other nations, whose interest in our safety and sovereignty is dubious at best, to call the shots.
Lenin knew that useful idiots would be our undoing. Damn him for being right. And, if the American voter places his country in the hands of Kerry/Edwards, damn them for proving him so.
I have been praying a simple prayer, during the past three weeks every morning, and sometimes while walking the night time streets from house to house:
When the American voter steps into the voting booth tomorrow, may he be infused with a sense of right and truth that somehow obscures the deep and powerful lies of this campaign. And, if he is not, may the Lord grant this nation yet more time, during which His remnant of faithful patriots might still awaken those who have chosen sleep over liberty.

I've not heard of the Keri "documentary" you mention, but it seems to follow a tried and true pattern. Appealing to the emotions of an emasculated population with the warm and fuzzies is a sure winner. Not only have we become soft as a nation, but ignorant and lazy as well. Or more succintly, "fat, dumb, and happy".
Maybe it's my eternal optimism that keeps telling me the likes of a Jean Keri will never be elected our president(had similar thoughts re Bent Willie also, FWIW). The election and re-election (by whatever means) of Bent Willie was a shock to our systems, eh? Got us off our duffs too didn't it?
I'm still confident that conservatives will continue to make progress, but there's always the outside possibility that the worst could happen since the bowel movement we call Democrats will not likely go away. Their agenda is as old as time itself.
So, if Keri's comrades are actually able to pull a fast one, we can always say to ourselves, "Livin' on da plantation really ain so bad." For the life of me I can not figure out why Black voters continue to vote themselves back to the plantation. God Almighty help us.
An aside. I suppose I have always thought the "useful idiots" term was attributed to uncle Josef; turns out we may both be wrong. A short but interesting discussion HERE.

Joanie, I believe the MAJORITY of Kerry supporters know full well who John Kerry is, and what he stands for.
They know he is a socialist, they know he hates this country, and they know he wants the U.N. to have control over our security.
Socialists are afraid of the U.S. being a superpower; yes, that includes the socialists in this coutry. They want to balance our power by aiding and abetting our enemies.
Think about what Madeleine Albright and company did during the Clinton years to assist China, et all with the sattelite and missile technology. They did that for a reason, to balance our enemies power with our own. That's a hard pill to swallow, but if you look at the American leftist through their prisom, it makes complete sense. Here is the way I see the breakdown of the political spectrum, it is the same today as it was during the revolution:
1/3rd don't know, and don'care, 1/3rd know, but don't care, and then there are those of us, that know and care about our freedom and independance.
Fully one third of the colonists were actively opposed to our seeking independance from England, and one third didn't care one way or another. And of course there was that third that actively sought independance. But what did those that opposed our independance do, after it was clear that we were going to win the war?
They fled to Canada. We should be so lucky, today.
What did Samuel Adams say to the John Kerry type supporters of his day? Let's ask him:
Regards
I think that George W. Bush will win the election.
Mike
Me too. And it will be the blacks and the hispanics that tip the scales. Tomorrow will be a great day for America.
Illegitimus non-carborundum.
In the end, the lazy, the cowardly, and the ignorant don't matter, as the history of the American revolution demonstrates.

With all due respect, you cant be serious. Do you think all your neighbors who are voting for Kerry are socialists, or even know what socialism is? Most Kerry voters are idiots who either want anybody but Bush or who believe Kerrys lies. They wouldnt know socialism if it came up and bit them in the a$$.
We live in a totally different world than we did 230 years ago. The lazy and the ignorant have been calling the shots - at least in government and law - in this country for fifty years.
Thank you.

I think the term useful idiots more aptly applies. Who was it that said, "Never attribute to malice that which can best be explained by stupidity"? I think most of 'em are clueless. After all, how many Dims have you run into whose thought processes take 'em past the next 15 minutes??? Very rare, but very dangerous commodity.
Socialists are afraid of the U.S. being a superpower; yes, that includes the socialists in this coutry. They want to balance our power by aiding and abetting our enemies.
Now this I WOULD agree with. Their motivation being, what, to remove the last impediment to their eventual takeover, eh? A free, prosperous and strong America is a stumbling block to the would-be world governors. May we prevail.

Now, that SHOULD say that BRIGHT Dims(heh heh) are a very rare, but very rare commodity.
Now that looks a little better...
