He deserves a vacation. He'll get more rest on the round trip in the air then he ever would on the ground.

Is Gov Lingle very popular? This must be helping. Hawaii has usually voted to reelect incumbent GOP presidents, so it could happen. The elder Pres. Bush lost there but he lost a lot of votes to Perot no doubt. Clinton won HI with far less than 50%.

FYI, it snowed on Mauna Kea last Tuesday. And Hawaii is a battleground state now.

Well, it's going to get bumpy. The "missing explosives" story did not break our way. CNN is reporting it as a settled issue and they're probably right--though I could add a dozen angles they will never touch. I'm not expecting the friggin' MSM to cut Bush any slack tomorrow.

Considering that Hawaii's new GOP Gov, Linda Lingle, must be doing a hell of a job for the President, would you like to rephrase that..."Rama Lama Lingle"..or something along those lines....(G)

Somebody, possibly Tony Snow, said that Clinton was going to campaign in Hawaii. Sounds like the islands are getting crowded!

If W wins Hawaii, he should play "Tiny Bubbles" at his victory party.

I can't believe on the last weekend before the election the VP is in Hawaii and the Pres is in NH. Makes me feel a bit queasy. I'm sure there is a positive way to look at it, but it escapes me at the moment.

I know how you feel--I don't know whether this is good or bad, but we'll find out soon enough. Either W is doing so poorly that he needs to try to scrap together enough EV to win, or else he's comfortable in the battleground states and is going for a landslide. I doubt very much this is bluff, W and Cheney aren't about to waste any of their valuable time this late in the game if HI and NH were out of reach just to "scare" the other side.

If things are as tight as some predict (not that I believe them... but they predict), then Hawaii may actually be very important. I was there this week and joked to the folks I was meeting with (bankers on Oahu) that I felt uncomfortable in a "blue state" five hours from the mainland. They told me that I shouldn't color their islands blue just yet. Looks like they weren't kidding. I'm not sure where Cheney will speak, but a photo-op at Pearl Harbor would be powerful. You simply cannot visit that memorial and not be reminded that we can never let down our guard. I say, go get'm Dick. Geez, if we take Hawaii and Minnesota... there may be hope for humanity yet.

Thanks a lot. I was just savoring the news of a Cheney visit and now got bombed with a Gore visit announcement. Maybe we can divert Gore with a "Save the Sharks" rally. I know the perfect place.

If you want to divert Gore, set up an all-you-can-eat-Luau at the airport. From the looks of the ol' Sighmaster these days... he doesn't miss many buffets.

"Man, if we pick up Hawaii, that would be like the Sox winning the series."

Oh man, oh man, oh man! My thought exactly!

Go on with your bad selves! GO BUSH! GO CHENEY! GOD SAVE HAWAI'I! (Noticed the local paper was very particular about that apostrophe!)

Great tag line btw, she is a fat, bitter old hag. That's the price some pay, in their quest for underserved power.
