Call it pessimism, but the truth always takes a backseat to propaganda in an election

True enough, it is unknown how this will play out at this time and we should not have huge expectations, but it looks like the momentum is on our side on this.

The MSM, no matter how much they hate Bush, will be forced to follow the evidence where it leads.

If it is set up that way, the end result is certain and they will not be able to spin that result.(even though they will try)

Remember this.....

President Bush Meets with Russian President Putin at Camp David

George W. Bush, President
Remarks by the President and Russian President Putin in Press Availability Camp David
Camp David, Maryland
September 27, 2003
PRESIDENT BUSH: Thank you all for coming. I'm proud to welcome my friend, Vladimir Putin, to Camp David. President Putin has visited the White House, he's visited our ranch in Crawford, and now he visits Camp David. I'm honored to have him here, and I appreciate the great dialogue we've had last night and today.

For decades, when the leaders of our two countries met, they talked mainly of missiles and warheads, because the only common ground we shared was the desire to avoid catastrophic conflict. In recent years, the United States and Russia have made great progress in building a new relationship. Today, our relationship is broad and it is strong.

Russia and the United States are allies in the war on terror. Both of our nations have suffered at the hands of terrorists, and both of our governments are taking actions to stop them. No cause justifies terror. Terrorists must be opposed wherever they spread chaos and destruction, including Chechnya. A lasting solution to that conflict will require an end to terror, respect for human rights and a political settlement that leads to free and fair elections.

President Putin and I talked about expanding our cooperation in Iraq and in Afghanistan. The President and I agree that America, Russia and the entire world will benefit from the advance of stability and freedom in these nations, because free and stable nations do not breed ideologies of murder or threaten people of other lands. I was encouraged that -- that it was clear that our governments will continue to work together on this very important matter, a matter of freedom and peace.

Bush and Putin 'best of buddies'

Thursday, 15 November, 2001, 23:57 GMT

By Rob Watson in Crawford, Texas
Just before President Vladimir Putin's arrival here on Wednesday, a large crowd had gathered in the dot on the Texas map known as Crawford.

They were there to catch a glimpse of the Russian's arrival.

Among them was a tall man with cowboy boots and hat, a real local.

Asked what he thought about the visit he paused for a second and then said he was "real excited" and that the two presidents "seemed like real good buddies".

Heart and soul

On Thursday as Presidents Putin and George W Bush swapped compliments at Crawford's - population 705 - only high school, the cowboy's assessment seemed right on the money.

Certainly they are an odd pairing, the former spy chief and the former baseball team owner. But they do seem to get along.

Using his famous Texan turn of phrase, the US President once again stressed the personal as the pupils looked on.

"The more I get to know President Putin" he said, "the more I get to see his heart and soul ...the more I know we can work together in a positive way".

Rockefeller has been quiet but Levin and Biden haven't. They have been running there mouths in front of a camera any chance they get.

I think the MSM will have to mention this, but at this late date, they probably know that those that will vote for Kerry, wouldn't let a little thing like the truth get in the way of a good smear job. They are voting against Bush.

Putin is probably very good at playing both sides against each other, and if Bush is as good of a poker player as everyone has been saying, the possibilities are endless what a tangled web of intrigue this could be.

"Again--the Russian Embassy told the Financial Times this story was "nonsense." Would Putin say different?"

I'll believe it when I see it. I think people are getting all excited over something that isn't going to change any minds.

Reporters talking to ABC News radio less than 30 mins. ago indicated John Kerry has stopped talking about this issue tonight. Another reporter indicated that it looks like Kerry has gone over the edge taking CBS and NYT with him.

least we all forget.....IMO the CIA followed Nuke components to Libya from Iraq...I don't buy Libya was solely behind the program. I beleive they were shipped to libya by Saddam, via russians or someone that ratted on them. Liby had not other choice but to come clean due to them being tracked directly there. What else would explain the CIA watching pressuring Libya without reason during a war with Iraq without a Trail leading to their doorstep.

Can I ask someone a dumb "?"

Is there some way too, after adding a post, to get back to the same part of the string afterwords without having to scroll down to get back where you left off?

I think I just lost myself...

The Administration should release the satellite images.

Do you think that is why Russia confessed for fear that the satellite images would out them?

"anyone notice HOW SILENT....Jay Rockefellors (D) has been....

It is like he knows something and don't want to risk his reputation with Kerry over all this.

He is on the committee.....Silence speaks volumes!!"

YES and the rest of the Senate Intel Committee as well. Remember a month ago when he came out of that meeting with sweat literally dripping off of his nose and no-one else was sweating! This is 'HUGH'(somebody tell me what that means..i am still a bit of a newbie..lol)

To carry your thought a bit further: what if this removal was included in intel reports, and thus in intel briefings to the candidate?
A lot of strange things popped out of Kerry's mouth during the debates, but I don't think any of them were accidental. Among the oddities were repeated references to cleaning up Russia's nuclear weapons, and another reference to materials stolen from ammo dumps in Iraq. Not exactly hot topics before he brought them up.
What if this intel (Russia/Iraqi weapons) was classified, and Kerry used them, knowing that Bush wouldn't or couldn't respond?

Wow. Worth Repeating.

ABC News now reporting that there was only 3 tons of RDX and 194 tons of HMX. However, the HMX could have been easily removed without breaking the seals:

The IAEA documents from January 2003 found no discrepancy in the amount of the more dangerous HMX explosives thought to be stored at Al-Qaqaa, but they do raise another disturbing possibility.

The documents show IAEA inspectors looked at nine bunkers containing more than 194 tons of HMX at the facility. Although these bunkers were still under IAEA seal, the inspectors said the seals may be potentially ineffective because they had ventilation slats on the sides. These slats could be easily removed to remove the materials inside the bunkers without breaking the seals, the inspectors noted.
