Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, 75, has lost consciousness, Israeli public radio reported, quoting Palestinian sources.
He lost consciousness "several hours ago", it said.
Arafat's senior adviser Nabil Abu Rudeina, meanwhile, confirmed that a team of doctors was examining the veteran Palestinian leader.
"A team of Tunisian and Palestinian doctors is examining the president," Abu Rudeina said in a statement read out to journalists in front of Arafat's headquarters in the West Bank town of Ramallah.
He said Arafat "needs more rest because of his fatigue" and added that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Jordan's King Abdullah II had offered to send doctors.
A source close to the Palestinian Authority said earlier that Mahmoud Abbas, the PLO's No 2, and premier Ahmed Qorei were also at the bedside of Arafat, 75, who officially has been suffering from a severe bout of flu.
ARAFART will be dust in the wind by morning.
But he can still vote if he's registered in Ohio, right?
He is in critical condition. Just heard it on the radio.
What is wrong with these people -- that they can't even make truthful statements about Arafat's being near death?

End of quote
Is the truth so difficult? He's dying. He doesn't need MORE rest. He isn't tired. He's sick and dying. Who did he think he was addressing? A bunch of idiots (journalists)? Uhh, well, maybe so! I see that the journalist are passing on the lie -- about Arafat being tired and needing MORE rest. ha!

We are all, of course, free to believe as we wish,
without fear of retribution or intimidation from others,
that's one of the great things about this country!
But he can still vote if he's registered in Ohio, right? LOL
My only complaint is that it is too easy a death for him...
Oh well... I'll take it nevertheless!
Oh well, there goes one of Kerry's Foreign Leaders that support him.
They poked him with a stick
You are correct. I wasn't trying to change your mind.
I was simply trying to document where my statement came from and to illustrate that I just didn't make it up.
It's not subjective. It reads pretty much the same in Greek as it does in English.
Weekend at Yassars.
Someone will figure out how to strap a bomb to his carcass and try to make him a martyr. This oughtta be good...
Hilarious...and I need laughter.

I hope he is followed by Castro.
The death of two such evils, followed by Hugo Chavez, will be an October Surprise indeed.
Funny, he didn't look fluish.
