ABCNEWS HOLDS TERROR WARNING TAPE

**Exclusive**

In the last week before the election, ABCNEWS is holding on a videotaped message from a purported al Qaeda terrorist warning of a new attack on America, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

The terrorist claims on tape the next attack will dwarf 9/11. "The streets will run with blood," and "America will mourn in silence" because they will be unable to count the number of the dead. Further claims: America has brought this on itself for electing George Bush who has made war on Islam by destroying the Taliban and making war on Al Qaeda.

ABCNEWS strongly denies holding the tape back from broadcast over political concerns during the last days of the election.

The CIA is analyzing the tape, a top federal source tells the DRUDGE REPORT.

ABCNEWS obtained the tape from a source in Waziristan, Pakistan over the weekend, sources tells DRUDGE.

"We have been working 24 hours a day trying to authenticate [the tape]," a senior ABCNEWS source said Wednesday morning.

The terrorist's face is concealed by a head dress, and speaks in an American accent, making it difficult to identify the individual, but US intelligence officials believe that man may be Adam Gadhan - aka Adam Pearlman - a southern California native who was highlighted by the FBI in May as an individual most likely to be involved in or have knowledge of the next al Qaeda attacks.

According to the FBI, Gadahn, 25, attended al-Qaida training camps and served as an al-Qaida translator.

The disturbing tape runs an hour -- the man simply identifies himself as 'Assam the American.'

ABC News Accidently Posts AP Recap of tonight's debate well before the event even takes place

CORAL GABLES, Fla. Sept. 30, 2004 — After a deluge of campaign speeches and hostile television ads, President Bush and challenger John Kerry got their chance to face each other directly Thursday night before an audience of tens of millions of voters in a high-stakes debate about terrorism, the Iraq war and the bloody aftermath.

The 90-minute encounter was particularly crucial for Kerry, trailing slightly in the polls and struggling for momentum less than five weeks before the election. The Democratic candidate faced the challenge of presenting himself as a credible commander in chief after a torrent of Republican criticism that he was prone to changing his positions.

Bush was expected to confront questions about leading the nation into war on the still-unproven premise that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. He also has faced accusations that he lacked a strategy to deal with the violence and chaos that have left more than 1,000 Americans dead and that the Iraq war has diverted U.S. attention from al-Qaida and other terrorists.

With a record of four years in office to defend, Bush had a debate strategy of being optimistic about Iraq but acknowledging that times were tough. His stance is that Americans know he is a decisive leader even if they don't always agree with his decisions and that Kerry has taken conflicting positions on Iraq and can't be trusted to lead the nation.

Although Kerry voted to give Bush authority to invade Iraq, he says he would not have followed Bush's path to war a path that alienated allies and, the Democrat says, left Americans less secure. Kerry argues Bush is out of touch with reality, paints too rosy a picture about Iraq and lacks a strategy to end the crisis.

Kerry also says Bush has neglected other major problems like North Korea and Iran, two nations suspected of pursing nuclear weapons.

Kerry, in a taped interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Thursday, said, "George Bush is scaring America. He's talking terror every day, and people see terrible images of what's happening in the world, and they're real."

Bush spent the morning comforting hurricane victims on his fifth survey of Florida areas hit by storms. At the Martin County, Fla., Red Cross center, Bush thanked volunteers for showing "the true heart of America. We long to help somebody when they're hurting."

The debate's focus on Iraq was sharpened by bombings in Baghdad Thursday that killed three dozen children.

Ahead in the polls, Bush could afford to settle for a debate draw while Kerry needed something to break the status quo. Some Democrats saw the debates as the last chance for a Kerry breakout.

Thursday night's meeting at the University of Miami was the first of three Bush-Kerry debates over a two-week period. Neither side was underestimating its importance with a TV audience of 30 million to 40 million expected. Almost a third of people surveyed say the debates will be a deciding factor in how they vote.

The first debate drew the nation's attention to hurricane-battered Florida and its political importance. Florida swung the presidency to Bush in the disputed 2000 election and could determine whether he wins re-election.

The debates were staged under a rigid set of rules negotiated by the candidates' representatives to limit spontaneity and opportunities for back-and-forth exchanges.

this is the FIRST year I ever heard of the polls being opened a week or two early. How about you?

It varies from state to state. More states are doing that.

I wish the Pentagon would give us a briefing. Will they raise the Threat Elevation, or what? ****************

From what I understand, they are out there doing everything they can do - but they have to weigh carefully re not addressing the public too soon and have the DNC spin big time "Playing Politics) and clouding the issue - to not ro late...

I often wonder how these people, from "Our Man" on down carry the enormous load they do...we don't even hear about 1/100th of what they are hit with every day and the decisions they have to make and how many times they' have already averted attacks, keeping us safe.

They get no credit for that, because they can't tell us about it, If the general public knew the tiniest part of what is going on every day, we'd all be either running around pulling our hair and screaming the-sky-is-falling!!! or hiding under our beds. **************

There's a lot of unsung heres out there...

Media Bias was discussed in an awards meeting where a JOURNALIST was presented with the journalists highest award.

This man stood there and discussed the fact that journalists do not tell the truth. They lie, they hype, whatever it takes.

OH, YEAH, this ceremony was 70 years ago.

"Instead of colored alerts, let's do pucker factor. From 1 to 10, where should we be? I'm at about a 6.... "

I assume that #1 = You couldn't drive a toothpick up it with a sledgehammer, or is that # 10?

Why don't you just kiss her ass?

If you read the posts you would see, I understand the media bias very well. I don't give a hoot about CBS/NBC/ABC.

I am saying that FREEPERS who are going off the HOOK saying ABC WITHHELD the VIDEO from the CIA are mistaken, and will be taken for fools and used by the DU'ers, etc. to shame FR.

NOW, do you get it, or are you on the same intelligence level with the DU'ers?

I will not be threatened because I would rather die standing up for the freedom this country was founded on (although I am NOT in any hurry to depart this world and yes, it does scare me) than live in the fear that everytime we piss the terrorists off, they will attack us.

I most certainly agree!!!!

Since it can't be authenticated is it ignored or what? **************************************

You can bet your bippy they are pulling no stops = they are on full alert...but they have to be careful about unleashing panic out here in la-la land.

We know that 50% of the public are screw balls, right?

HEAD UPS - Condi coming on Hannity radio (it's now 5:18 eastern) - She'll be good to listen to...brilliant and calm

I can't believe your READING BETWEEN THE LINES leads you to conclude the terrorist are saying they will not attack us ever, ever, ever again if Kerry is elected.

What I am saying is they are basically saying/doing the same thing they did in Spain. I know for a fact that they will hit us again if they have the chance & they know if Kerry gets in then their chances are better at doing it & getting away with it.
