Scott Peterson's Defense Could Rest Tuesday

Scott Peterson's defense team could rest its case Tuesday.

On Monday, his lawyer called on Peterson's mother to try to explain why he had nearly $15,000 in cash on him when he was arrested. She says she gave him back $10,000 that she accidentally withdrew from his account.

His lawyer also questioned police about whether someone else could have been responsible for the death of Scott's wife, Laci, and her baby.

Prosecutors say he killed her and dumped her body into the San Francisco Bay nearly two years ago.

I was out of town, offline and away from trial coverage for a week and 1/2. As for election coverage, every time I turn on the news I see JFn's propoganda, which gives me irritable bowel syndrome :O I'm not paying attention to the polls....I'm waiting for the important one on Tuesday. NO, he will have to be re-tried!! You can be sure that if it's a hung jury, the Prosecutors will have the charges re-filed before Peterson can get out of his seat. PLUS he won't get bail either. He's a PROVEN flight risk!!

LOL-anyone with a shred of common sense knew that was all smoke and mirrors. He doesn't have anywhere to go because he presented no reasonable alternative theory....and the jury most likely won't believe anything he floats in closings. He should have rested immediately....he has made it easier for the jury to convict, imo. Fiegers prediction of the quickest conviction ever may just come true.

As much as I hate to admit it, Snotty actually has a strong argument that his conviction should be overturned or retried because his lawyer failed to vigorously defend him. Geragoon's defense has been appalling, and has consistently made Peterson look guiltier with every blundering attempt to clear him.

Of course, the possibility exists that this was the idea all along. Tank the first case, appeal it, and concentrate on a retrial after the media and national attention has faded off. Without the daily scrutiny by hundreds of pundits, forensic analysts, and attorneys across the country, Scott will find it much easier to lie and get away with it.

Well, this is pathetic. Garagos is nothing but a big blow hard. Everyone said what an attorney to go up against and what a baffoon the Prosecution was, but look who's the baffoon now.

Did Jackie or Lee ever explain why Scott bought the used car using his mother's name? As I remember, the car dealer asked Scott why his name was Jacqueline and Scott said it was like the song "A Boy Called Sue". I'm sure their explanation would be quite creative.

California has a gazillion AUTOMATIC appeals anyway SheLion!! But I agree, pretty shoddy defense for a million bucks!! But then again, HOW do you defend someone so obviouly GUILTY? Truthfully, he convicted himself by his own MOUTH on the wiretaps and his bizarre ACTIONS!! This is NOT a normal person. I don't see where anyone posted this info, so I will report to you.

Catherine Crier had a tidbit today from a phone conversation where Jackie tells Scott to "deny, deny, deny." She also said his sister Susan wants an answer from him, and he needed to "deny, deny, deny". I was half way listening when it started, and I think the tape is Jan 17 (not sure if she meant deny about Amber, Laci or what).

I hope to heck the prosecution uses this in their rebuttal.

I realize that Scott's mother is no rocket scientist, but to withdraw "accidentally" thousands of dollars from his account and then hand him the cash instead of depositing it back into his account? And why even have this much cash on hand? The words liar and moron come to mind.


My thoughts on this is that Jackie has been padding Scotts wallet for years..Never made to take responsibility. Also with this much money in a Jackie.Scott. Laci account why did Laci have to hock jewelery for Scott to take Amber out on town?
