Spurrier got his ass kicked in the No Fun league because his players sucked as evidenced by their record with the skins' saviour Joe Gibbs. And Gibbs is already in the Hall of Fame.

Coach Spurrier beat up on EVERYBODY in the SEC. Look it up jpl. ONly 5 home losses in 12 years. Name another team in the conference who has done that in the last 15 years.

I wouldnt mind seeing Stoops or Shanahan take the helm

Stoops won't take that job. It would be a step down in his carreer :)

Seriously... yesterday he released a statement saying he is not interested in the job.

Spurrier won SIX sec championships

Yep, and my recollection is that most of those were fairly early. He came into the SEC when it was primarily a running league and introduced the long bomb. That was successful til the rest of the conference caught on and caught up. We were losing ground when Spurrier left.

Why don't you get your facts right Chrissy?

I distincly remember the GATORs Hammering the Noles in the Sugar Bowl for the MNC. Hung 52 points on 'em.

Do you even know what the word "hideous" means?

Go back to reading your comic books. And you won't be seeing me.

Take this to the bank kjam. Stoops will one day coach the GAtors. The only reason he is not there is that the OU Pres. won't let him out of his contract and has threatened to sue him and the University of Florida. Have you noticed d that OU hasn't been able to get Stoops to sign an extension to his contract? Hmm. Wonder why that is?

And BTW, Stoops and Spurrier are best friends and still vacation together with their families. Read between the lines. That is all I can say about it right now.

Oh, Christ. There's always a jerk who takes this sh*t too seriously.

I'll leave you alone so you can go back to tending your Steve Spurrier Shrine and nurse your grudge about the "Fifth Down".

Happy Gator Flops!

Be Seeing You,

Chris

No way Stoops goes to Florida to coach. You've been reading to many "homer" chat sites.

Oh yeah... it's every day that someone raises your salary from 600k to a year to 2.1 million....... and threatens to sue you if you don't take it.

I'm a die hard LSU fan and I'd LOVE to see Spurrier return to Gainsville.

Why? Because I believe that the SEC is flat out the best conference in football most years, and a return to greatness by Florida only makes this great league more competitive.

Tennessee is always decent to good, Georgia is now a perennial top 10 team, and a resurgent Florida makes the SEC East a beast; LSU will be there year in, year out, Auburn may snag a national title this year, Arkansas is always fiesty and Alabama is slowly re-emerging as well.

SEC is SECond to none, baby!

Urban Meyer is going to be the next great college coach. We lost a lot of respect for him personally over the way he left us here in Bowling Green, but there's no denying that the man is a great coach.

Hey LL. I was at the Florida/ LSU game a couple of weeks ago and it was a good one.

the Tigers were really vocal even when it looked like they were going to be crushed in the early going. My group sat very closely to the big section of LSU supporters and they NEVER let up. They had a couple of crass chants (which didn't really bother anyone) like "it sucks, to be, a Florida Gator." We just laughed it off. All the LSU fans were really gracious after they pulled out the win.

If we have to lose, I don't mind losing to LSU at all. It was still a fun time. Go SEC!!!

I think I just told you wrong. A little checking locally here finds this:

OU coaches get raises; Stoops' contract extended 2004-06-24 By Ty McMahan and Mick Hinton The Oklahoman

University of Oklahoma regents voted Wednesday: To extend football coach Bob Stoops' contract by a year to Jan. 1, 2010. Stoops now makes $2.3 million annually.

Urban Meyer will go to Florida.

Spurrier will either be at North Carolina or (if Holtz finally retires) South Carolina next season. He has said that going back to Gainesville would be admitting defeat. He wants to go somewhere different and do well.

It's funny b/c y'all owned them for so long but ever since SOS was there, they have undeniably had your number. If they play with a vengence to "win one for the Zooker" this wknd they may yet spank you again in Jacksonville.

You dawgfans gloat too early....always have. Your fans and your players got the big head and look what UT did to you. Oh well, your hopes for a MNC this year would have been in vain anyway b/c we all know Auburn is going to pound the puppies!

We are not out of it yet. South Carolina could upset the Vols. We just got a new coach, and he is pretty good. He pretty much owned the Gators when he was with Florida State. He started in 87, and finished in 2000. FSU always started and finished the season in the top 4 for 13 years when Richt was the O.C. Look what he has done with Georgia in just 3 years.
