KERRY SPOT
Jim Miklaszewski of NBC News pretty much dismantled the New York Times attack on behalf of Kerry today.
NBC News: Miklaszewski: April 10, 2003, only three weeks into the war, NBC News was embedded with troops from the Army's 101st Airborne as they temporarily take over the Al Qakaa weapons installation south of Baghdad. But these troops never found the nearly 380 tons of some of the most powerful conventional explosives, called HMX and RDX, which is now missing. The U.S. troops did find large stockpiles of more conventional weapons, but no HMX or RDX, so powerful less than a pound brought down Pan Am 103 in 1988, and can be used to trigger a nuclear weapon. In a letter this month, the Iraqi interim government told the International Atomic Energy Agency the high explosives were lost to theft and looting due to lack of security. Critics claim there were simply not enough U.S. troops to guard hundreds of weapons stockpiles, weapons now being used by insurgents and terrorists to wage a guerrilla war in Iraq. (NBCs Nightly News, 10/25/04)
If Jill Abramson, managing editor of the New York Times, had a shred of concern over her paper's reputation for getting the facts right never mind objectivity or fairness, she would be running the correction - or at least this blatantly contradictory information - in the giant headline font and above-the-fold location that today's story got. But I guess the interest in echoing the sentiments of Maureen Dowd is more important than getting it right at the Old Gray Lady.
This is too big a story for the MSM to ignore.
May I say once again the New York Times is caught with its foot in its mouth!!! Fantastic News. Call your local news media, call radio stations, get this news out!!! Demand that it is reported.
Think about this. Not only are we taking down the Dems in this election, but also CBS and the NYT and the AP (so far) . . . it's getting to be like shooting fish in a barrel! (or shooting geese on a farm)
Someone at the NY Times is sitting down with a fifth of Jack Daniels trying to figure out what to write and sweating the deadline for the morning addition.
Let's go, pajamahadeen!
Call talk shows, write letters to the editor, email news editors on TV and papers all across the nation.
DO NOT let them get away with this!!!!!
Kerry and Edwards were all over this like cheap suits and the MSM will not set the record straight so we have to.
I'm off to whip out some emails! Freegards! GG
You really think the MSM eill run that?
LOL or trying to hide his crack pipe!
The NYT Al Qaqaa story is just that: Qaqaa!
BBC World News on PBS is actually taped. It's live at 6:30 pm ET.
I was thinking that myself. It's rather funny, the MSM keeps touting these stories and the alternative media just bitchslaps them back....
Expect a one line correction mixed in somewhere in the classified section.
History may remember this election cycle for this and similar stories rather than for the results themselves.
"So the Embedded Reports once again bite the MSM in the ass?"
But, of course! The truth always does! (See?B.S! is not alone...)
give the man credit. He's right.
It just wont be the way he wants it!
And maybe this is all they have in their arsenal..maybe they were going to build on it tomorrow, ergo, the new 'bomb' that Drudge mentioned would be coming from the DNC.
that dud wont explode
Who's your daddy NY Times!
WHO'S YOUR DADDY NOW!!!
Sometimes the MSM throws out a teaser headline, and the blogosphere already has the story filed before the MSM actually reports it.
Lets see how tired Effin is tomorrow. He no doubt will be up all night over this one.
Lockhart's statement is hillarious! Lockhart..meet Baghdad Bob!
This story was discredited before it hit the paper. There were holes in it big enough to drive an Abrahms tank through, and some FReepers knew that last night. Its like the MEMO... it was an obviously false story.
