YAY!! ANOTHER CONVERT TO BUSH IN PHILADELPHIA!!!
ME

Posted on 10/25/2004 5:05:23 PM PDT by hipaatwo

I was just listening to Dom Giordano. A black man from West Philadelphia called in, said I'm swithching parties. Said the blacks in church are afraid to say anything because they're afraid of being called Uncle Tom's. He put a Bush/Cheney sign on his lawn and said he knows its going to get stolen, bricks may get thrown through his window but he doesn't care. He's voting for Bush for security and he doesn't like Kerry at all. Personally, I wonder how many other black voters in Philadelphia feel the same way but are scared to speak out. I was so proud listening to this man. Living here I know it's going to be hard for him where he lives, he has great courage.

A black man called Philly talk radio and said you're switching parties? Remarkable. How ever do you think he knew?

Brave man! I've heard the kerryists in Philly are quite aggressive and obnoxious (above and beyond the usual aggressiveness and obnoxiousness, that is.)

Yes, the main issues resonating with the black community is the gay marriage thing and the fact that The Prez has more black people in his cabinet that JFK has on his campaign staff.

My prediction: The Prez will get 21 percent of the black vote nation-wide.

Yeah, you'd think some of the black voters in Philly didn't really want to re-elect the mayor, but they voted about 95% in his favor.

They will eventually realize that the Democrats have failed them in their city (with a 5% income tax rate), so maybe they can do the same damage to the federal government.

Well, all you did was forget those little quotation marks! That's not so bad!

Great news...hope the guy starts an avalanche of "switchers".

I know of at least one gentleman (a Philly native who happens to be black)that I work with that is also voting for Bush. Of course he gets a rough time within his own family and has expressed his disappointment with his people. He is heavily involved within his church and trying to better the lives of those less fortunate. The faith-based intiatives championed by President Bush are just one of the examples he cites as having helped him help others. I'm sure there's many more that feel the same way.

That's great! It takes a lot of courage, especially in this election, when the Dems have never been more violent. Well, not in the last 100 years or so.

I don't think he's alone, either. We have had black people coming into GOP headquarters to register this summer. We didn't have to go out to them; they came to us. I'm not black, but if I were, I'd be pretty sick of being treated like the property of a party. In the traditionally black areas of my town, they have local "elections" with only one candidate, because there is no party but the Dems. Maybe now these districts will get real elections, with two candidates and two parties to choose from (the way it's supposed to be)
