WOW. You've got an inside track. If anyone's prayers might help, your's might. IMHO, mine probably won't, but I'll try anyway.

Thyroid is almost always contained in the thyroid itself and does not spread outside of that gland. The trach throws me though.

I agree with you. However, I wouldn't say judicial appointments trumps the WOT. If, for no other reason, the WOT is not resolved as quickly as possible, future Leftist Presidents will use continued attacks as a reason to clamp down on our civil liberties. Think: suspension of the 2nd Amendment.

They are on a par with one another with a successful conservative goal of preserving our country and the civil liberties our Founding Fathers guaranteed to us.

If you haven't read Bork's "Coercing Virtue," I highly recommend it.

I understand what you're saying but my thinking is even with Kerry or whomever as President the people will force a successful (even if grudging) prosecution of the war or a new election cleans house. The war will be won in a year or ten. However, Supreme Court decisions are a one-way process. What's lost is never regained. Three or four hyper-liberal SC appointments makes a virtually unanimous leftist court. The wake left in our culture by the decisions of such a Court will last forever.

I find the tracheotomy strange. Not normal procedure for thyroid cancer - usually you just remove the lump, or remove all or part of the thyroid gland itself. (I am a thyroid cancer survivor.) I'm thinking there might be more to this than just the thyroid cancer.

That's true, but he was getting old and he had to know that he wouldn't make it for another four years.

Prayers, agreed. But it is good to see that Rehnquist will be back on the bench in time to again "SELECT" President Bush.

The word was that Rehnquist wanted to retire several years ago, but agreed to stay on until conditions were better for appointing a good replacement for him. He's 80 years old, and I imagine only his sense of duty to his country keeps him going.

God bless him.

I've been saying this for months. We need to sweep the elections and break the logjam in the Senate. It's the only way we can start appointing decent judges and take our country back from judicial tyranny.

I believe that after Bush wins, there will be a flood of SC retirements. Rhenquest might not even be the first.

I think the only justices that definitely aren't going anywhere are Thomas, Kennedy, Souter, and that last Clinton appointee.

Yeah, I agree with you on anaplastic thyroid cancer. I'm trained in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Usually you do a trach on anaplastic because it is invasive of the airway. The other thyroid cancers usually compress the airway extrinsically, after they get really big.

If it's anaplastic, he's a goner.

I'm late to this party, and trying to catch up to the news on this. My but haven't times changed. Home a couple of days after a trach.

Yeah, socialist leftists seeing hammer and sickle dreams with the Rehnquist's news. Hope the judge pulls through with no problems and laughs at them all. *prayers*

From your mouth to God's ears :)
