Oh, come on. Lots of guys fantasize and have phone sex. Now he may be a cheat. Sure. A bloviator? Okay. A sexual harasser? Maybe. A perv? Unlikely
my opinion he is a pervert
He could be a pervert, I don't know. But if it's phone sex that makes him that then there are a lot of perverts out there.
That she would put something that she could have stopped before O'Reilly's family is reprehensible; she is beneath contempt.
My daughter says that she has made herself the next Monica Lewinsky.
I have noticed on his television and this radio show that he has said sexual things that I thought were inappropriate. How could he be so stupid given his success, that he would allow himself in such a situation?
First of all, O'Reilly's inflated ego has really begun to grate on me in the past year but my respect for him grew when this "scandal" hit, because he refused to pay 60 million dollars (he claims) for the woman's silence, and turned around and sued her for extortion.
Secondly, I think many here are too rough on the guy - who knows if Makris came on to him, or if it was a mutual attraction... or WHAT? We don't know what their relationship was, and we don't know what the truth is. Nor do we know what O'Reilly's relationship with his wife is - nor, frankly, is it any of our business.
Now, paint me naive, but even if BO'R is completely "guilty" of (gasp!) off-color comments and suggestions of phone sex... well, in my opinon ... SO WHAT? Unless he said: "Sleep with me, wench, or your job is toast!" I don't see where there's even any "there" there... particularly since she came back to work for BO'R after the "harassment" was said to have occurred. But I'm not a lawyer... perhaps it's illegal to say things to co-workers like "You look beautiful today" (certainly, one poster here thinks that's the case with Lis Wiehl).
Finally... a question... RE Tapes of BO'R's phone conversations (if there ARE tapes...) ... depending on whatever state this occurred in, wouldn't recording these conversations be illegal - since O'Reilly obviously didn't know he was being recorded (IF he was being recorded) ... and, if that's the case, how could such recordings possibly be used in any kind of legal battle?
Did you see the interview that he did with Cheryl Tiegs? I was appalled at how full of himself he was. He remarked at how Cheryl Tiegs keeps herself in such good shape and that he couldn't do that, that she would know if she could see him in a bathing suit. The image was gross, he's not exactly Mr. Body Beautiful.
Another liberal bites the dust.
No, I didn't see that interview but a couple of other times, I've heard him talking with women in a "greasy" kind of way....lost interest in him when he seemed to be doing it so often and so effortlessly.
I lost interest in O'Reilly about the time that he launched his radio show and it became obvious that he was marketing himself to pick of the listeners that wouldn't be interested in Rush. He sees himself as in competition with Rush and he's just not in the same league. He's not as smart.
"Again there is no book about O'Reilly/Fox News authored by Mackris."
Book or no book that gal is not credible!
Obvious that she either/or wanted 15 minutes of fame
to bribe O'Reily for $'s and bring him down. Not totally convinced she is acting alone in this either.
And O'Reilly is not a saint. He needs to practice what he preaches. If not it can come back to bite yah.
"And O'Reilly is not a saint. He needs to practice what he preaches. If not it can come back to bite yah."
Don't get me wrong, O'Reilly is not my favorite show, he got all puffed up with himself, so I stopped watching but I truly feel that this gal had an agenda to do him harm and I would not be surprised to learn later that the effort was pushed by someone else lurking in the wings.
bttt
He's the CELEBRITY with the reputation to lose. She's a NOBODY who might collect big bucks and will be happy. His family is not her concern. It should have been his concern before he phone-sexed her.
