Sun-Times (Chicago) says it's time to shift command to Kerry

CHICAGO (AP) Though President Bush initially faced the war on terrorism head-on, he has lead the country on a course that ``feels wrong,'' and Sen. John Kerry's leadership could give the United States a fresh start, the Chicago Sun-Times said in its Sunday editions.

The newspaper endorsed Kerry and applauded his leadership style, saying he is not a weakling and his moderate views would close the rifts Bush has intensified.

(My note: LIES, LIES and LIES)

``The course America is on today feels wrong our attempts to defend ourselves have somehow drawn the contempt of the world, and we think much of that is due more to style than to substance not to what we've done, but how we've done it,'' the endorsement said.

The Sun-Times, which endorsed Bush in 2000, also said it likes how Kerry thinks even when he changes his mind.

``We want leaders to stay the course only when the course is a good one,'' the newspaper said.

Last weekend, the (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald endorsed Kerry. Like the Sun-Times, the Chicago suburban newspaper also endorsed Bush in 2000.

Other newspapers including the Chicago Tribune and The (Bloomington) Pantagraph endorsed Bush last weekend.

Several Illinois newspapers have yet to published their endorsements for president.

I think Daily Herald may have endorsed Kerry to try to elevate their national profile. After all, it looks great in the MSM when you are being reported as one of the 2000 Bush papers to endorse Kerry, and might get you more libs to read it. They seemed somewhat reluctant in their endorsement, not as forceful as they did for Bush in 2000. The DH is the #3 paper in IL behind the Sun-Times and the Trib, so perhaps they want to push pass the Sun-Times considering all the Sun-Times' troubles as of late into the #2 slot.

Strange from a paper who's motto is "To tell the truth, fear God, and make money."

I'm shocked, shocked, to find the Tribune endorsing Bush and the Sun-Times endorsing Kerry.

(/sarcasm)

Not voting for Keyes is a vote for Obama.

Strange logic.

They aren't using logic, they're using their "feelings", isn't that what liberals do?

Yes, they allow emotions to over ride reason. That's why they're irrational. They are always putting passion ahead of calm reflection.

We need more jobs in America. How about a plant to manufacture surrender flags?

Hey, let's get Iran to outsource their uranium enrichment to us!

Sun-Times: Let's have a known traitor for President, during war time. Yeah, that's the ticket.

The course "Feels Wrong" does it Sun-Times? Does Marxism and appeasement of terrorists " feel better" to ya?

Great. We subscribe to the Daily Herald & Sun-Times. We thought the Tribune, the only paper that endorsed Bush, was too liberal. The Daily Herald has become a very liberal newspaper. I'm sick of seeing Danziger on the editorial page.

EXACTLY!!! What a ridiculous, stupid, vacuous, empty, silly, yeah, SILLY statement for a newspaper to use in endorsing a man for the President of the United States.

PATHETIC!

Kerry's WORDS make them 'feel good' and President Bush's determination to guide the world into FREEDOM to fight the oppression and hatred bred in tyrannical and rogue states 'FEELS WRONG' ?

DUMB!

DANGEROUS!

INSULTING!!!

What about KERRY'S SENATE RECORD? What about every past vote and action he has made regarding the USA's DEFENSE?

If Kerry had been PRESIDENT.....KUWAIT WOULD BE PART OF IRAQ RIGHT NOW!

Kerry VOTED against pushing SADDAM out of KUWAIT!

This is incredible!

So the Chicago Tribune endorses Bush, and the Sun-Times endorses Kerry. Bizarre.

Bizarre very, very bizarre. The liberal Chicago Tribune endorses Bush and the conservative Chicago Sun-Times endorses Kerry. very strange. Very, very strange. This is the way it used to be the Trib endorses GOP and the Sun-times goes for the Dem's. But, much water has passed under since then.
