The Case Against Ted Rall
1918 Blog ^ | 10/21/2004 | Phil Buckley

Liberal bomb thrower Ted Rall has another hit piece on Bush. As usual, Rall lies, distorts and proselytizes.

Let's look at his flawed arguments one by one.

1. He stole the 2000 election. Voting to "reelect" an illegitimate commander-in-chief who seized power by judicial coup d'état is a tacit endorsement of how he got into the White House in the first place. How the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Bush v. Gore is irrelevant. As a federal court, the five runaway Supreme Court justices had no right to agree to hear the case. Under our system of government, elections--and election disputes--fall under state jurisdiction. Their decision to take the case, the way they fixed the outcome in Bush's favor, and Bush's willingness to assume the presidency extraconstitutionally are outrages that no patriotic American, even if they agree with his policies, can forgive.

Although the "looney left" has been screaming this line for 4 years, it's just not true. Rall says that the Supreme Court didn't have to get involved. That's true, so lets look at what caused them to get involved. The cable television wing of the Democratic Party, CNN says:

A comprehensive study of the 2000 presidential election in Florida suggests that if the U.S. Supreme Court had allowed a statewide vote recount to proceed, Republican candidate George W. Bush would still have been elected president.

Suppose that Gore got what he originally wanted -- a hand recount in heavily Democratic Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and Volusia counties. The study indicates that Gore would have picked up some additional support but still would have lost the election -- by a 225-vote margin statewide.

I think it best we never mention that air-thief around here, much less link to a site carrying his spew.

Whenever I read anything like this about Ted Rall, I immediately go to

and place a number of votes for Ted as the most annoying. He sometimes makes the top ten list of most annoying people. I find it therepeutic.

Isn't this the guy who predicted all the millions of NYC citizens were going to unite and do everything within their power to ruin the RNC convention? How'd that work out, Ted? How this delusional nutcase even has a job is beyond me.

Ted Rall is obviously a hard core atheist, and as such I pray for him.

In my opinion, Rall is merely another artifact left over from what I dubbed "The Decade of Fraud(s)"-- the nineteen-nineties with its Clintons, Dot-Bomb Bubbles, Oslo, Global Warming, and other booger-men the Left trotted out into the spotlight of fame and infamy.

He's a lousy draftsman and worse writer, and under normal circumstances would never have risen beyond a poorly-edited local paper.

But the nineties were a decade of endless self-promotion of assorted shams, swindles, and con-jobs... anyone remember Rigoberta Minchew?

I suggest ignoring the little fraud.
