WRAL Poll: Bush Maintains Lead In N.C.

With less than two weeks to go until Election Day, nationwide polls show President George W. Bush and Sen. John Kerry in a dead heat. However in North Carolina, that is not the case. According to a recent WRAL poll, the president maintains a commanding lead.

Although many political analysts believe Kerry bested Bush in the debates, the latest WRAL poll shows his performance hardly moved North Carolina voters. The Bush/Cheney ticket holds a 51 percent to 43 percent lead over the Kerry/Edwards ticket with the challengers closing the gap by just 1 percent since last month's poll.

Cool!!! My husband has spent his last 2 Saturday's out with a group of Vietnam Vets in downtown Raleigh talking to passers by about Kerry's crimes ect. :-) He said they probably spoke to 500 people last Saturday, with at least 70% in favor of Bush already and many that didn't know much about Kerry. Even changed some minds!! I don't see NC going blue!!!

I've been going up & down I-40 most of this week, and I have seen hundreds of W04 and Bush/Cheney stickers on cars,
and maybe a dozen K/E stickers...

Kerry's phonus-balonus Southern Strategy never did materialize in this race and it's interesting how little this gets mentioned by the MSM.

You can tell me if I had the wrong impression but when I was out in Oregon I had the feeling of a "Big Brother" presence. I think what gave me that was all the extra little laws about this or that. Isn't Washington, at least the western part of it, the same way?

Thank you for posting this, Ambrose! YEssssSS! I cannot adequately describe how uber-vonderbar it is to see wave after wave of W04, Bush/Cheney stickers, signs, etc. How many local and regional businesses are sportin' em too. Yep, I came "home"! :)

Thanks. Nixon's home state was listed as NY (I thought it was CA which he won)along with Agnew's state of MD which he lost.

I was at the state fair today and the Bush/Cheney table was swamped with people, no exaggeration! I went to check the Kerry table and there were 3 people there. I would say by mid-afternoon the bush stickers on people outnumbered Kerry stickers 20-1! That has to rub off on Burr and Burr needs to start using Bush in more ads.

Bush may be maintaining a lead, but apparently Republicans are not voting properly when they go for early voting. People were calling in to the Jason Lewis show on WBT in Charlotte last night, saying they had already voted, but that they had no idea that pulling the Republican lever would not include a vote for President Bush.

In other words, because the President has to be selected seperately, they left the polls without voting for President! (70% of early voters, in NC, are Republicans.)

I saw my first Easley bumper sticker on Monday. You would think an incumbent Gov. would have more bumper stickers out there.

One never hears in the liberal media that John Edwards isn't going to carry his home state....can you imagine the media uproar if Cheney didn't carry his home state of Wyoming or Bush didn't carry his home state of Texas?

I've not seen one Easley bumper sticker or yard sign. I thought it was strange too.

Starting to see quite a few Bowles, and Kerry yard signs in the past few days and a lot of Kerry stickers. The Bush stickers and signs still FAR outweigh the Kerry ones though.

I'm kind of suprised nobody has stolen mine yet. I have 8 yard signs (I live on a high visibility, high traffic corner) and 5 bumper stickers. Hubby can't wait till the election is over and I remove them all : )
