Authorities believe that a combination of secondhand smoke and coffee had a negative affect on the hearts of the residents.
;^)
My mom told me that coffee would also make me go blind, er...I think it was coffee drinking.
I gave up most of my fatty foods, cigarettes, and cut back on my alcohol consumption. F*ck you, you can't have my coffee as well...
This is the latest in a long line of putative precursors as yet unsupported by proper medical studies but well enough publicized to lend credence to an otherwise nonsensical conclusion; I think it all came about because some researchers weren't convinced that the blood-thinning property of ordinary aspirin was the primary feature of its use to prevent heart attacks.
Since aspirin is the cheapest off all the miracle drugs, there is no money in the prescription of it and hence little profit for the attending physician.
By incorporating aspirin into the larger group of what are now known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDS)and touting new formulas of this class there stands to be huge profits realized.
Class dismissed
The journal wants $8 for the full article, but this abstract is free, and it details the type of people involved in the study and the blood markers that were found. Weight was not mentioned, but it might be in the full article.

I'm sure this research was not sponsored by Starbucks. I wonder what other factors could have influenced the results of this study vs. the others.
This could be hugh and series.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I ALREADY QUIT SMOKING, NOW THIS? WHAT'S NEXT MASTURBATION ACTUALLY DOES CAUSE BLINDNESS?
What are "inflammatory markers" and which ones are we talking about? (Need facts for discussion only; no intention to quit coffee here.)
Act 1: Frighten, enthuse or inflame the public. E.g.:
Although the findings provide a mechanism by which coffee intake could promote heart disease, ...
Act 2: Mention that, with current research, we're not sure yet. E.g.:
... the authors note that not all previous studies have identified an association between the two.
Act 3: Beg for more funding to really find the answer. E.g.:
Hence, further studies are needed to confirm the present findings.
Oh...heh heh...sorry...switching to decaf now...
Oh No!!!.....Not my coffee???......
I forget what years oatmeal is good for you.
Bad news for Starbucks?
I heard there was evidence that nearly 90% of all Americans who died in the 2 months following 911 had eaten potatos in the previous year. The main stream media just isn't reporting this!
Can't square this with rodent studies. Coffee drinking rats outlive the control group. There may be other positive effects of coffee that outweigh the inflammation.

We're all going to die from *something*.
Make mine Häagen Dazs® Super Premium Coffee Ice Cream (16% butterfat!).
