Well that's certainly bad news. Hope he reconsiders.

Good move. I don't think the country wants a dynasty. He has plenty of time to run for President. Perhaps in 2012 or 2016.

Gov. Jeb Bush said Sunday he will not run for president in 2008... I like Jeb, but I don't think he's Presidential material. Besides, I'd rather have Tancredo in 2008.

Good move for him. He's a good guy, but a third Bush would be too much of a dynasty.

I'm not worried about this. Presidential candidates have a tendency to pop up out of nowhere. In 1988, nobody had a clue who Bill Clinton was, except for the very few who remembered him as the keynote speaker at that year's Democratic Convention, where he gave a speech so horrible that he was written off as a backwoods yahoo with absolutely no future in the Party.

I would like to see him run for President but think should wait till 2012. I don't think the nation as a whole would go for another Bush in 2008. It would be to risky for him. Instead I Would prefer for him to run for the U.S, Senate in 2006 against Bill Nelson and then possibly run for the presidency in 2012 or 2016 depending on the outcome of the 2008 elections. I believe he can beat Senator Nelson in 2006. This we can have 2 Republican Senators from Florida. I say 2 because Mel Martinez will win on Nov 2.

What about Bill Owens of Colorado?

Any other Bushes lurking in the bushes? Time for a fresh breeze to blow through Washington.

what do these words mean...
Bush said he was not going to think about his next move until after completing his second term in 2006...

What about the Lt. Governor from Maryland? Even though I do not know anything about him, I was really impressed by his speech at the convention. You can forget about Frist, he is my senator and i am really disappointed by his wimpyness. All of the others mentioned either are to liberal or women and I sure don't think a woman has any place being in charge of this country.

Jeb is a smart man and a great governor. Its a shame that he isn't in the White House right now. I think he is right not to run next time also.

[ "I'm not going to run for president in 2008. That's not my interest," Bush told ABC's "This Week." "I'm going to finish my term." ]
Good news.. About the only thing that would cause me not to vote for President.. course there is Arlen Spectre and John McLaim... I take it back there are several reasons I wouldn't vote. Would not vote democrat for any reason I can think of..
Jeb Bush (for president) would strain my republican party ties to the breaking point.. I might even vote 3rd party even if "the Hildebeast" were running.. Hope this does not happen.. Bush Sr., Bob "welfare pimp" Dole, and Bush Jr. have used up any benefit of the doubt I have left..

Jeb Bush is a great governor. But the Dims would scream and holler if he ran for Pres. Though what else is new.
Maybe we can convince Zell to flip. :-)

It's just as well. Can you imagine what the Democrats would say about his daughter? Besides 2008 is far too soon for a Bush to run.
