Jeb Bush Rules Out 2008 White House Run

Gov. Jeb Bush said Sunday he will not run for president in 2008 and defended his brother from critics who say the president refuses to acknowledge his mistakes.
The governor also denied a report that he knew of problems with a list of felons to be purged from the state's voter rolls months before it was discarded.
"I'm not going to run for president in 2008. That's not my interest," Bush told ABC's "This Week." "I'm going to finish my term."
Bush said he was not going to think about his next move until after completing his second term in 2006. In an Associated Press survey in August, more than a third of the state's Republican delegates said they favored Bush as the party's presidential candidate in 2008.

Good move. I don't think the country wants a dynasty. He has plenty of time to run for President. Perhaps in 2012 or 2016.

I like Jeb, but I don't think he's Presidential material.He's more presidential material than George W. is, IMO, which shows you how good he could be. But, American voters are not going to put another Bush in the White House, and Jeb knows it.
Besides, I'd rather have Tancredo in 2008.
Tancredo has made way too many enemies in the GOP to even think about the Presidency.

Good move. I don't think the country wants a dynasty. True enough. A Bush has been on the GOP Presidential ticket in 6 of the last 7 elections ('96 being the only exception). Making it 7 of 8 (and then 8 of 9) is a bit much.

LOL!! Good point :) Tancredo is a one issue candidate who will be skewered by the MSM and his opposition if he ever runs for anything other than congressman. Doubt he would even get to become a senator!

I'm not worried about this. Presidential candidates have a tendency to pop up out of nowhere. In 1988, nobody had a clue who Bill Clinton was, except for the very few who remembered him as the keynote speaker at that year's Democratic Convention, where he gave a speech so horrible that he was written off as a backwoods yahoo with absolutely no future in the Party.
