I'm pretty well disgusted my his pathetic attempts at making excuses for his comment at the debate. He's trying to play it off as a compliment to the Cheney's. He doesn't even begin to sound sincere. He sounds like a guy caught stealing a loaf of bread, trying to explain that he found it in the parking lot and he was just planning to pay for it.
His comment wasn't even a mistake. It was an ill conceived political stunt the blew up in his face.

Can I say, if I could just say a word about a woman that you didn't ask about, but my mom passed away a couple years ago, just before I was deciding to run. And she was in the hospital, and I went in to talk to her and tell her what I was thinking of doing.I don't know how long she was in the hospital before she died, but on November 10, 2002, the Boston Globe reported that Kerry would file papers "as early as this week", according to a Kerry aide. It looks like he may not have told ol' mom until after it was in the newspaper. She died Nov 14, 2002.And she looked at me from her hospital bed and she just looked at me and she said, Remember: integrity, integrity, integrity. Those are the three words that she left me with.
