EDINA, Minn. -- Brian Foldery wanted specific plans from John F. Kerry in the third presidential debate, not another recitation of the things President Bush has done wrong. After 90 minutes Wednesday night, the 29-year-old insulation salesman was impressed. Kerry had some good detail, he thought, when he talked about what to do with the budget deficit.
Still, something was missing. When Foldery listens to Kerry, somehow the Democratic nominee just never fully connects.
There was that wisecrack about how he had "married up" to his heiress wife. Foldery thought it was "smug," not funny. And he cringed when Kerry mentioned that Vice President Cheney's daughter is a lesbian. Why bring her into it? Hanging over all this was Kerry's demeanor, which reminds him of that of a recent college graduate who thinks he has all the answers.
"In a way, I would kind of like to vote for Kerry," said Foldery, a remarkable statement from a man who always has voted Republican. "But I just don't know, because I still don't know that I can fully trust him."

The words sound good. But YOU DON'T BELIEVE HE MEANS IT.
Thank God!
How long does it take the liberal press to find these people?

...plus I'm a total dumb-ass!"
EDINA, Minn. -- Brian Foldery
MAJOR Democrat stronghold. This guy is lying to the Post. He probably has NEVER voted Republican in his life.
Edina is a DFL stronghold? That's news to me. We're talking about a ring suburb here, practically the middle of Pawlenty country.
In a way, I would kind of like to vote for Kerry," said Foldery, a remarkable statement from a man who always has voted Republican."
??? Another one of the media's undecided "Republicans"...
You'd think some of these idiots SEARCHING desperately for a reason to vote for Kerry and not finding one....would've come to the realization by now that they probably shouldn't vote for him.
Note the words "has always voted Republican." ALWAYS . . . the guy is 29 years old! He's only voted in TWO previous Presidential elections.
The MSM are so transparent.
Thanks for posting. Interesting article and I must admit I think the Post did a fair job.
"Kerry's demeanor reminds him of that of a recent college graduate who thinks he has all the answers." - No one would ever accuse W of that ;-)
This tells me that our Mr. Foldery is a moron. All added up, Kerry's stated economic policys will drive up both taxes and the deficit. Democrats REALLY suck at math. As my 14yo said during the last debate "Kerry must be the candidate for people who can't do math"
This article is from the Washington Post??? That's something unusual.
Let's face it people - if you're not decided by now, chances are you are just too stupid to vote.
Wash Post has been the most 'fair and balanced' among center/left papers in the past 2 years.
I find it hard to believe a republican would ever consider voting for Kerry. I have had several Democrat friends call to let me know after the last debate and Kerry, Edwards and especially Edwards wife's statements about the Chaney family, they will definately be voting for Bush and 2 are considering changing parties.
Fred Barnes saves the day
Quote of choice
"The snap polls, however, showed a tie or even a Kerry win. These should be ignored. A debate is a three or four day event, starting with the 90 minutes on TV, then involving examination of what the candidates said and commentary on it, and winding up with polls that show whether one candidate or the other gained or lost ground. My guess is Bush will gain.
Now here's a strange twist on the debate. Bush was the winner in a focus group of uncommitted voters conducted by pollster Frank Luntz last night. The 23 voters thought Kerry, not Bush, won the debate. But they split 17 to 5 in favor of Bush on whom they now plan to vote for (one will vote Libertarian). "They still don't trust what John Kerry is saying," Luntz said, though they thought he said it well."
hey what is that site where you can look up people's political donations? I'd like to check on where these people put their money (if anywhere, that is.)
