Week-long prayer vigil sign-up for Election 2004

Dear Friends! God is good! On Free Republic, we have prayed through two debates and have witnessed the Lord answering our prayers each time. Now, we have the opportunity to do the truly important work of praying through the election itself. With the constant stories of voter fraud, lies in the media, silence of the media, and current events all affecting how people feel about this election-- we need now, more than ever to not let up but to see this battle through. It has often been said that God's army marches on its knees, and this is so true. I personally (and I know I'm not alone) believe that one of the reasons that this battle has been so fierce has been because it isn't just a battle of political preference; rather, it is a spiritual battle against the forces of good and the forces of evil. Our President is not perfect, but he acknowledges God and relies on Him daily. John Kerry mentions God in speeches, but his stated beliefs and actions bear no fruit of a personal relationship or Godly influence. Evil will try to destroy freedom, for America and abroad. Evil will lie and distort the record. Evil will divide and demean. Evil will not value the life of the most innocent. Evil must not win.

Please join with us in signing up for an hour of prayer during the week prior to the election. We are organizing and entire week of 24 hour a day 7 day prayer so that evil will not win. God has blessed us as a people and He has blessed this nation. But, if we truly wish to see this republic remain free, then it is incumbent upon us to make sure that we do not lose faith or hope in the Lord's abilities, that we persevere, and that we yield ourselves to the knowledge that prayer is the most important thing we can do - and having done all, we can stand.

May God bless the Free Republic & May God bless President George W. Bush!

Please pick a time and day listed below to commit to one hour of prayer for President George W. Bush. Each day of that week, we will have listed prayer suggestions to help you in your prayers. God answers prayers and he is with those who seek Him!

Please put me down for 11pm-12am pacific all week (on Nov 2nd could ya put my name in red, white, blue or maybe even hot pink, I'm visualizing a (((victory party))) with my Lord).

One crystal clear thought through my prayers; "pray for thy neighbor" ( those who have let their hearts be hardened by the hateful rhetoric) ...may their hearts be softened, the words of our President soothing and may they be tugged to the polls by heartstrings of peace, prosperity and hope, led by truth.

From this day , Oct 14th , and until election day Nov. 2 ,
I make a vow to take no solid food , to fast and pray daily,
and to dedicate any merit from this small sacrifice to the good fortunes of George W. Bush in his re-election effort.
I plan to make my best effort , I hope not to fail .
If I do fail , please do not be disappointed in me .
I do this for God & Country. (and also to loose some weight!)
This has nothing to do with Ramadan , those people fast during the day and eat in the evenings.

put me down for 7:00 a.m each day and 3:00 pm every day.

I will be praying all throughout and as a matter of fact, just today I mailed the President a letter to tell him, he was indeed prayed for and we do it because we respect and honor him and know he is God's man. Great things are happening because of us pray warriors and millions of others across the country.

last night , in the 3rd debate , Mr. President did in fact mention very clearly that he knows , that he can actually 'feel' the many many people that are praying for him.
And ,that he appreciates it so much . I was a poignant moment.

Thank you so much for your dedication in organizing us to pray. Please put me down for the 9:00 p.m. hour on Thursday, Sunday, and Tuesday.

Also, just a reminder that songs, hymns, and prayers for the President and the election can be offered in many different ways. To those who may feel that an hour on one's knees is too daunting a task, please understand that is not a requirement. Our time of communion with the Lord on behalf of our President can take many forms. While one person may prefer to go into a closet and pray, another may be praying while driving a long distance in the car, or walking outside in the beauty of His creation. The goal is simply to praise the Lord for His awesome power, to seek His forgiveness for our nation's sins, to pray for His highest blessings upon our President and this nation, and to safeguard this election. Our Almighty Father will use this time of communion and fellowship with Him to bless us and strengthen our hearts.

I can take the 4 PM EST slot every day EXCEPT Sat. and Sun.

I'll add prayers those days as I can, just can't commit to the actual time slot.

Well said, Faith.

Also, reading the scriptures is a help to me. And the daily Pray for President Bush thread will be a source for reading the prayers that others have posted as well as other devotional writings.

Pray for President Bush - Day 1488 (Election Countdown - 19 days)

Anyone wishing to be on a ping list for that thread may let it be known here or through FReepmail.

Tuesday, Election Day, every hour from 9am Central on.
I can't watch the returns, my nerves won't take it. I'll pray the rosary instead.
May God Be With Us.

I will pray 10- 11 p.m. my time (MST) which I believe is 1-2 am Eastern. Every night that week. :)

I have been reading poll threads and Dick Morris threads, which are overly negative. I needed this thread. Thanks. Praying...

Thanx for your debate prayer thread. It really helped me not to be nervous about the debate because I did my hour and quite a few more times and I just knew that somewhere, someone was praying every minute!

So I will sign up for the 9 AM hour on Nov. 1.
