Dear Friends! God is good! On Free Republic, we have prayed through two debates and have witnessed the Lord answering our prayers each time. Now, we have the opportunity to do the truly important work of praying through the election itself. With the constant stories of voter fraud, lies in the media, silence of the media, and current events all affecting how people feel about this election-- we need now, more than ever to not let up but to see this battle through. It has often been said that God's army marches on its knees, and this is so true. I personally (and I know I'm not alone) believe that one of the reasons that this battle has been so fierce has been because it isn't just a battle of political preference; rather, it is a spiritual battle against the forces of good and the forces of evil. Our President is not perfect, but he acknowledges God and relies on Him daily. John Kerry mentions God in speeches, but his stated beliefs and actions bear no fruit of a personal relationship or Godly influence. Evil will try to destroy freedom, for America and abroad. Evil will lie and distort the record. Evil will divide and demean. Evil will not value the life of the most innocent. Evil must not win.
Please join with us in signing up for an hour of prayer during the week prior to the election. We are organizing and entire week of 24 hour a day 7 day prayer so that evil will not win. God has blessed us as a people and He has blessed this nation. But, if we truly wish to see this republic remain free, then it is incumbent upon us to make sure that we do not lose faith or hope in the Lord's abilities, that we persevere, and that we yield ourselves to the knowledge that prayer is the most important thing we can do - and having done all, we can stand.
May God bless the Free Republic & May God bless President George W. Bush!
Thank you, again, Blogger. I know God heard the prayers we prayed for tonight's debate.
Please sign me up for this effort, too.
Gotcha both down!
Where would you like me to put you down?
Sign me up for Monday night, 11/1/04 9:00 CST. I'm not sure I can last for an hour but I will be praying much from now through the election. Thank GOD for helping President Bush tonight. He seemed nervous in the beginning but seemed to settle down with a sense of Peace that surpasses all understanding and I know that prayer made a difference.

These last two Presidential elections have certainly taught me to understand the exhortation to pray without ceasing!
May I suggest that this thread (and any subsequent ones, if this one gets too long and unwieldy) be used only for signing up. Any prayers, meditations, hymns, or other devotions may be posted on the daily Pray for President Bush thread.
Pray for President Bush - Day 1487 (Election Countdown - 20 days)
If anyone would like to be added to the ping list for that thread, please FReepmail either Faith, ohioWfan, or kayak to make that request.
goodmorning dear brethren,
put me in for 6am.
i will also be forwarding this to the cyber-flock and send additional prayer commitments.
GODSPEED!
"I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ
Jesus my Lord."
- Philippians 3:8
Spiritual knowledge of Christ will be a personal knowledge. I cannot know
Jesus through another person's acquaintance with him. No, I must know him
myself; I must know him on my own account. It will be an intelligent
knowledge-I must know him, not as the visionary dreams of him, but as the
Word reveals him. I must know his natures, divine and human. I must know
his offices-his attributes-his works-his shame-his glory. I must meditate
upon him until I "comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and
length, and depth, and height; and know the love of Christ, which passeth
knowledge." It will be an affectionate knowledge of him; indeed, if I know
him at all, I must love him. An ounce of heart knowledge is worth a ton of
head learning. Our knowledge of him will be a satisfying knowledge. When I
know my Saviour, my mind will be full to the brim-I shall feel that I have
that which my spirit panted after. "This is that bread whereof if a man
eat he shall never hunger." At the same time it will be an exciting
knowledge; the more I know of my Beloved, the more I shall want to know.
The higher I climb the loftier will be the summits which invite my eager
footsteps. I shall want the more as I get the more. Like the miser's
treasure, my gold will make me covet more.
To conclude; this knowledge of Christ Jesus will be a most happy one; in
fact, so elevating, that sometimes it will completely bear me up above all
trials, and doubts, and sorrows; and it will, while I enjoy it, make me
something more than "Man that is born of woman, who is of few days, and
full of trouble"; for it will fling about me the immortality of the ever
living Saviour, and gird me with the golden girdle of his eternal joy.
Come, my soul, sit at Jesus's feet and learn of him all this day.
C.H.SPURGEON
Please put me down for daily 9AM prayer. Thank you
