NEW YORK -- The gloom of seeing their ace bounced after just three innings, his shortest outing in three years, was worsened by the knowledge that the Curt Schilling who had carried them all season might not be seen again this October.

“ ...we battled back and made it a game... we had the tying run at the plate... we let them know it won't be easy... we were ready to make a comeback... too bad this was Yankee Stadium... we got our feet wet tonight... we can get it together now."

Yada... yada... yada.

They should just change the team name to the Boston Red Sucks

In most any other year, I would be rooting for the Red Sox to beat the Yankees. But with their #1 fan, Kerry, rooting them on, I guess I'll have to side with the Yankees this year.

"Who's your daddy" is already as annoying as "I have a Plan".

The only reason the hated Yankees were put on this earth is to torture the even more hated Boston Red Sox.

If it wasn't for the Patriots, I'd be pretty depressed this morning.

Thank-you Bob Kraft.

When the Yankees stage huge comebacks, they tend to win. When the Red Sox stage comebacks, they invariably lose. Too bad, so sad.

Can any Yankees fan confirm or deny this... it's my impression that at Yankee Stadium, they play Frank Sinatra when the Yanks win, and Liza Minelli when they lose. Is that accurate? If so, it's one of the best things I've ever heard.

Yeah.. Ok.. Whatever.

Just like the dems, the Yankees will try AGAIN to BUY another world series.

The Sox are a great team with a real cast of characters that showed some tru grit, even when they were down by 8 runs. I hardly think they "suck". Your pretty boy pinstripes almost BLEW the game last night. It is a long series and the Yanks have won NOTHING yet.

I did find it a bit amusing how they were all jacked up when they were up by 6 runs, but when the game was over they were much more subdued. Look for Pedro to have a good game tonight and keep them in it. Sox will score and score again on the spankees.

Thank-you Bob Kraft.

That's because unlike the Red Sox, the New England Patriots demonstrate the value of teamwork. Why do you think they're beating up on the competition lately?

If Schilling is done, I think the Bosox are done. Schilling and Johnson were the pair of aces that beat the Yanks in the 2001 WS. They pitched every D-Back win and were the most effective pitchers from the bullpen as well. Boston built their team on the same model with the express purpose to beat the Yankees in the ALCS, with Schilling and Pedro as the pair of aces.

With Schilling gone, Boston is looking at an Ace high. That's not going to be enough to take the pot in the post-season. And with Pedro's problems against the Yanks, maybe they are looking at a Jack high.

WYD!

Sure wish I had a monopoly on the Prilosec franchise on Boston Common. I could be wealthy beyond the dreams of avarice.

Buy another World Series? I suppose the other teams players work for free? The Yankees are America's Team because they do whatever it takes to win. Unlike loser teams (ie. Red Sux) they are willing to pay top price for performance. If you don't get the job done you are gone. Seems like a good capitalist philosophy. BTW, the sox payroll is not exactly at the bottom of the scale.

Look, I'm not a fan of either team, but with this year's Sox that sure sounds like a "pot and kettle" situation.
